My husband and I rented one of the log cabins. We had a wonderful experience here. Stacy was such a personable and helpful lady! From taking our reservation to our TV not wanting to work, she was very kind and helpful. It was a nice campground to stay in. Very quiet, relaxing cabin with everything we needed plus close to the lake. We would recommend staying here! We cannot wait to come back Thanks for everything Stacy!!
We came into town for a bowfishing tournament and had had a reservation elsewhere for months upon our arrival they had canceled our reservations and didn't have anything left so we were high and dry for a place to stay for our 2 day adventure or so we thought just one quick phone call to Stacy and we were in a cabin with much better service and amenities then where we were going to stay. Very peaceful and quiet campground perfect place to relax and rewind. We will definitely be using Pecan Grove from now on. Thank you Stacy for helping us.
My husband and I moved in this campground September 2022 and absolutely loved it until it took over new ownership. These people increased the lot rent from $970 to $2500 with a $35 a month maintenance fee. People who have been in this campground for years are moving out because they can’t afford to go camping anymore. This is a sad situation.
There were dirty socks in the chair. The sheets were not fresh and it's sulfer water. It smells like rotten eggs. We had to go buy air fresheners. We couldn't shower all weekend.
My dad has had a camper here for many years, I have stayed in his camper several times and Was looking forward to bringing my own camper in if there was a spot to ever become available. That was until yesterday! My daughter and I were staying at my dads camper, I invited a friend over to go swimming with us and into our fourth hour of swimming we were made to leave Because we were strangers! The owner did not bother to be nice and ask any questions, just let us know we’re were not welcome there! I will miss going here, but would rather take my business where it is welcome!!
My husband and I spent our 7 year anniversary here for the first time without seeing the cabin first. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in! The cabins are beautiful! The sons who built them did a Wonderful job! Everyone is friendly and helpful, and the campgrounds are well kept and peaceful!
Would not recommend to anyone. The shower house is horrible. Mold on walls, drains are always dirty. The pool, which looks nice, is NEVER open. They never post hours of the pool, just depends on when sherry wanted to open it or not. On one occasion we went to the pool the gate was closed, not lock or sign saying closed, just closed. So I assumed it was open because there was no signs to say otherwise. My kids and I went over there and swam. Shortly after sherry, who runs the camp ground, came in yelling at myself and my kids, who were less than 8 and 2. Using profanity and being completely inappropriate. They have rules listed in their contract but those rules only apply to certain people. If you are in her group of friends, that constantly drinks, then the rules don't apply to you. But if you are just minding you business, trying to enjoy time at the camper with your family then all rules and then some made up rules applies to you. Parking is a joke. You are allowed 2 vehicles per lot but good luck even trying to get 1 vehicle in. They moved our camper without our permission or notification. We are pulling out our camper tomorrow, and can't wait to be some where else that values their tenants.
Won't even give it 1 star really. I Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone I know. My friends and I were forced to leave in the middle of the night because the campground owners drunk son and his friends said the "weekend folk" were not welcome there and they continued to drive loud golf carts around. We were concerned if we went to bed our belongings would be damaged. Luckily a "great" resort up the road was able to accommodate us in the middle of the night and our entire weekend WAS NOT ruined by drunk horrible human beings. Stay away from this place!
I would give this place a NEGATIVE 100 stars if I could. If you appreciate keeping your family and belongings safe, don't go there! We had to pack our campers and trucks up at 1 am and leave because the drunk staff were harassing us in golf carts and even threw something at us striking one of our camper trailers. We did absolutely nothing to deserve this. They circled our campsite a dozen times or more in multiple golf carts yelling and trying to provoke us until we decided we weren't safe and our belongings weren't safe and we decided to pack up and leave at 1 am. The owners som and daughters are all drunks and they don't like weekenders. We say other reviews describing very similar experiences but only after we returned home. So it wasn't just us. DONT GO HERE!!!!!
The cabins are nice, that is until you turn on the water. Then the cabin fills with a severe rotten egg smell, that is explained away as too much sulfer content in the water. Which, while this may be true, the least they could of done is warn us. We felt like we were exposed to toilet water. We left a day early as we could not go another day without a clean shower, and of course no refund was given. We wont be returning.
