Peck Funeral Homes

Description

Our Weymouth Funeral Home was originally owned and run by the civil war veteran Willard Dunber and his grandson Clarke Dunber taught Mortimer Peck the funeral business and helped him purchase the first Peck Funeral Home which was in Quincy MA, opposite the full Adam's mansion. In the 1950's the business moved to Tremont Street in Braintree and later moved to Washington Street in Braintree. The Weymouth Funeral home celebrated both the Centennial as well as the Bicentennial 4th of July celebrations. The predecessor to the Quincy Funeral Home did John Quincy Adams' funeral in 1836.

Russell the owner is a joy to work with. Very professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and accommodating. Really one of the nicest and most humble guys I have had the pleasure of meeting. It starts at the top, as the rest of his staff is nothing but top notch as well. Can not recommend these guys and their services enough. Hands down the best in town for quality, service, and price. In difficult times they really make the whole process seamless and send your loved one off in the most honorable and beautiful way. Don't want to have to use them again,...but if and when the time comes, will not hesitate.
Pecks Funeral Home handled my brother’s funeral recently and Russell Peck along with the complete staff at Pecks did a great job for my family at such a difficult time. Each of the staff handled their part of the process as smoothly and professionally as anyone could expect. The staff at Pecks handled the important documents, they made the arrangements for the cremation and provided us with a beautiful presentation of the Ern for burial at the grave site where they had also arranged the setup of an awning with chairs. Russell presided over Joe’s ceremony at the grave site. Great job everyone at Pecks.
My Mom was picked up by the kind staff right away when she recently passed. At the viewing, we were extremely pleased with how beautiful she looked in her lovely coffin; it was amazing and reassuring to have her looking so lifelike. The flowers red and white roses were stunning and comforting. The room was warm and welcoming with beautiful carpeting. The prayers that the staff led at the end of the viewing were perfect. We went to the graveside service immediately after the viewing and there was a nice canopy and chairs. The limo fit seven so there was plenty of room. Our driver took us by our old house before the cemetery. After our service, a Peck staff member led us in prayers. It was a perfect funeral and a comfort as we said goodbye to our dear Mother.
My Aunt was recently buried from Peck Funeral Home. The staff was very professional and helpful in everything. Russell Peck was kind .caring and listened to our wishes and made helpful suggestions. The Funeral was beautiful and respectful. Above and beyond attention to details . This our first time planning a Funeral
I'm blessed to share my Recent experience with Peck Funeral Home. The owner Russ Jr. is a very humble guy. I truly believe , He's following in his father's footsteps to bring compassion and providing the BEST service available ! Russ is caring, very Attentive, Sympathetic and understanding. He has also experienced the loss of some of his own relatives: He cares about his staff and tries to be as flexible as possible. I truly believe Russ goes above and beyond, making everything less stressful. I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THE KINDNESS Russ Jr. and Peck Funeral Homes extended to my family. If you find yourself in a unfortunate predicament, I can assure you that you are in the best of hands with Peck Funeral Homes!
They are always great people to work with, they handled my great-grandmother's funeral decades ago and handled my grandmothers funeral in 2001. They also handled my aunts particular situation. Russell Peck used to be my landlord about 20 years ago. I dealt with his son the other day on pre-panning for my Dad. Not an easy task but Glenn made it so much easier. And it was good to see Russell Peck still working at the age of 81. A man of integrity, a family of integrity and sensitivity. I would recommend there services in a heartbeat.I would lke to add that they were even kind enough to go through their old records to determine where my great grandmother as buried. When she died she was 93 and there was no family money to purchase a headstone. That is something I wish to do and they were a big help. Dan Bollen
I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service received from the owner and director when calling to coordinate a funeral. He did not offer any condolences, said I was not able to coordinate anything over the phone from out of state, and said we'd have to wait 7days for a burial. After coordinating my father's flight to Boston with a funeral home in FL, we purchased a casket in FL. He had the odasicity to call the funeral home in FL to share his displeasure because they sold me a casket instead of buying one from him. Once I was informed of this call, I knew my father would be ok with me going against his wishes.... so I chose Cartwright Funeral. They were phenomenal. I've heard Peck's used to be great but once the son took it over, it has gone down hill. I can totally see why. I would not recommend to anyone.
Russell has always been very friendly and very knowledgeable.
My father in law was buried today, 1/4/17 thru Peck Funeral Home and I would recommend their services to everyone. They made a very hard day so much easier on our family. Nobody enjoys attending wakes and funerals and Glenn, Chris and Mr Russell Peck seemed to know that and treated both my FIL and my family and friends with dignity , a little humor and a lot of personal attention. I will forever be greatful.
I feel as though this funeral home took complete advantage. My family and I wrote up an obituary and when it came out in the newspaper it had been comepletely altered with false information. The service was nothing like we had planned and they were unapologetic about everything. It’s hard enough losing a loved one but then to deal with unprofessonalism on top of that.
