What an easy experience. Make an appointment and renew your driver's license in 10 minutes...

*December 13, 2022 Had just went here to see if I could get my permit renewed and apparently you have to retake the 20 question quiz, the people behind the counter NEVER advised me about this.... One of the receptionists are misleading and they don't give clear instruction on what you would need to do to go about the process...I am at a loss for words for the maltreatment I received, along with how uncomfortable/unwelcome they made me feel. I would NOT recommend this be the office to take care of your documentation, Peekskill, New York. One of the representatives, that perceive to be of Hispanic descent behind the counter where they would have you take the written test and such didn't have to give me an ugly expression when I was simply asking if I could have my permit renewed...but no, she decides to be all conceded and thinks she "knows it all"; Therefore, causing me to get kind've assertive/aggressive towards her. This office location should also have reserved a separate room when taking this test for those who have disabilities, which I happen to be an individual with a disability and need accommodations...I am unable to take a test and/or such if there is a lot of noise in the background. So unfair and unreasonable...

This place has the vibes of a demo DMV designed to prove wrong all the stereotypes associated with this institution. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. I had to update a detail on my driver license, it probably took me about 10 mins in and out ! Again very friendly and efficient staff, be careful : they could make you love DMV !

All the DMV have the same problem but this one is the worst, they open Thursday till 6 pm but if you get there at 4 pm to do a write test that takes 10 min!!! They said you have to go before 230 pm and in the mind time is just one person on the computer taking test and employees having fun between them and geting cofe and doing jokes but rude and sometimes nasty as hell with customers , they are lazy to talk to people imagine to do work , honestly is a nightmare every experience mostly if you are a white person or spanish

Aug 2022, I know you can't believe it but coming to the Peekskill DMV Office was a breeze. You should make an appointment online and have the confirmation with you, because you need to scan the barcode into the machine once you walk in so you can get a printed ticket. They will call out that ticket number when it's your turn. Then just go to the assigned window that they tell you to go to. Also, I was there at 7:30am in the morning, less lines and people. The staff working there couldn't be any nicer. The whole process was very organized. Note, park directly across the street in the lot because the parking goes up to 10 hours, and you never know how long you will be inside the DMV. Download the PARK SMARTER App on you phone that I used to park my car. You need to put in the Zone number in 0018, and the parking spot number, plus the hours and use your Credit Card, it is that simple.

I went to the peekskill DMV because I had to do a license renewal. There was a woman seated right at the entrance of the DMV. As I approached she immediately jumped into action and got me in and out in a matter of seconds. Before I knew it I was inside completing my eye exam and paying the renewal fee. This employee was so helpful I really wish I got her name or some type of information so I could bring attention to the incredible job she is doing. It's a great example of how a single individual can make a difference. My opinion and past experiences that have made me feel I must avoid going to the DMV at all costs have been completely changed. If ever in the future I am summoned to the DMV I will head to peekskill in hopes of coming in contact with this beautiful person again. Thank you whoever you are, you angel of the motor vehicle department.

Do not take I repeat do not take ur road test here. I’ve had my learners permit for 2 years, 0 accidents, I’ve driven both in ny and in Washington. Today I did my very first road test where a tall black man as my instructor came with a attitude with his hoodie on his head. I did everything but apparently checking my blind spot which I did and believed I did but he chose to lie. Than after waiting the entire day to see my results I was shocked to see that he lied and made it seem like I wasn’t putting my turn signals let alone checking each turn. These instructors should be fired because ur bad mood shouldn’t be the cause y innocent ppl fail. 12/21/2022.

Before the pandemic I used to go to Brewster DMV, but then it became county specific. I’ve gone to the Peekskill DMV at least three times since then and it’s now my favorite office. No standing in line, plenty of seating until they call your number and the employees are very easy to talk to and exceedingly professional. There’s always a very patient employee right at the front to help you figure out what you need to do, and they will make it THEIR problem to figure out any issues before they have to make it yours. I’ve even seen the cleaning lady pitch in to interpret for those who are still learning English. They listen to your needs and help you figure out how to get it done. As long as you have done some basic research into what you need to bring to the office, and are treating the staff like you would want to be treated, it’s always fairly painless. Overall, they take the chore out of going to the DMV. Never had to be there longer than an hour or so when it comes to basic things. There is ample parking across the street, but leave a little time as you will have to pay the parking machine.

The service here is great. I came for a license exchange and registration. There was quite a bit of paperwork and documentation involved. They worked through it knowledgeably while being friendly and communicative. I haven't been to other NY DMVs to compare. For those in Westchester, this should be a terrific option.

i had two separate transactions to complete and both were done within an hour without any hiccups. the "traffic director" at the front door was extremely helpful and kept things orderly.
