Waterfront seafood restaurant

""We're not just a restaurant. . . We're an institution. Pelican Alley was established in 1981, but the history of the building begins many years earlier. Built in the 1900s as a fish camp, it morphed into a local bar and boat rental, and then to the Admiral's Wardroom. Through the years, it has become a favorite gathering spot for locals and a destination point for tourists. Our clientele has included the famous and the infamous. Local and not so local artists, writers and actors have been known to drop by to enjoy the food and the ambiance. Several ghost hunters have investigated our hauntings.""

Comfortable settings with a great view of the inland waterway. Live Music in the evening. The food was great and the service was fast and pleasant. 1st was a Avocado Bacon Chicken wrap with fries and their special fish taco trio. Grouper, Snapper, and Mahi along with rice beans on the side.Food: 5/5
Cute little spot right next to the drawbridge leading to Casey Key. People were lining up to enter before the place even opened. Definitely surprising to see, even on a weekday. The food was good. Seafood chowder, fantastic. Fried seafood lunch platter, great taste and light batter, portion a bit small. Crab cakes, tasty and dense, fried which was interesting. The french fries were way too salty and a bit cold. Coleslaw was good and not too much mayo. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambience is a bit loud inside. Tons of pelicans and fish hanging around the area which is cool. You can pull right up on your boat. Neat spot to check out.
First visit in several years. Remodeled. Clean. Experienced wait staff. Good view of intercoastal. Lots of pelicans. Varied menu. Seafood chowder loaded with seafood. Scallops very good. Cajun fish sandwich perfectly cooked.Food: 5/5
Traveling South on 41 from Nakomis to Venice FL. I headed west on Albee Rd. And came across this fabulous find of a restaurant. It has an awesome history, vibe, story behind it. The owner was present interacting and conversing with the patrons. Renee the owner even performs with her husband every Friday from 7-10 p.m. food was top rate. I will be back many times and can't wait to be in the crowd when the band plays. Wildlife birds perched across the canal standing guard. Highly recommend. Jamie was my friendly and attentive waitress 4-17-23. Mom and I took Dad here for his 90th birthday. Food and ambiance were excellent. Server had a cell phone glued to her ear throughout most of our lunch. Clearly her attention was elsewhere.
Awesome establishment with an interesting history. Lots of options, even healthy ones & tasty food with reasonable portions. Good prices & charming staff
The food was scrumptious. Fun watching the pelicans and the drawbridge lift for the boats while eating on the intercoastal waterway.Food: 5/5
Absolutely awesome! Perfect customer service! Diane took great care of us and was very sweet! Best fish and chips I’ve had in awhile and my girlfriend loved the mahi taco lunch special. Just needed hush puppies on the menu… reasonably priced and beautiful views. we will definitely be back!
The food was really good here. The place could use a little overhaul, but I would come back. The service was so soFood: 4/5
Is a cool restaurant. Has wonderful history, which you can read about. Food is delicious! Prices are very reasonable! Go outside and check out the pelicans, hence the name. You can come by boat right on the water. Have music as well.Food: 5/5
Easy to miss. We did. *Be sure to follow Albee Rd. to just before the bridge. Parking to the left roadside of the Marina. Five of us dined at this wonderful waterfront restaurant. We’d actually taken our boat and dined here years earlier, but I didn’t recognize the place from our land-bound drive. So, it was an awesome first-time-sort-of experience. We are always looking for well-cooked seafood. You'd think it would be easy given our coastal location, but it's not. Our group of five's ages spans from the teens through the eighties. And everyone was delighted with their meal. The food was fresh and freshly prepared. And the staff - front and back of the house - is wonderful! It cost us about $30 per person, which included two bar drinks at about $8 each, three beverages, and three bowls of chowder to share, along with five meals.
