Fun store to hit up if you have some extra to me. This is Pendleton so don't expect anything to be cheap but you can find some good items and good prices. If you are into fabric they also have a large selection of Pendleton fabric that can be purchased for you to do anything you desire.
Love Pendleton. Got a quilt and a wool blanket. Love it never will go back. Staff friendly and help full to get 10%off deal.
We are big fans of the Pendleton brand a style of materials. This store has some nice selections of home decor and clothing. The rolled goods for making projects are really cool.
My review mostly concerns mill ends and yarn! This Pendleton store seems to be the only one that still carries fabric, especially offcuts, mill ends, and bolts of yarn from the mill. I've never bought finished goods from this store, but we love the mill ends and yarn, and buy them here frequently. They have bins tiny trailers! of small fabric pieces, sorted by size, that you can buy by the pound- from 1" strips of selvedge all the way to 6" of blanket material or what-have-you. Prices vary from $1.50 to like $5 per pound, and large bags are often always? BOGO. The color and type of fabric varies by the day. They have big cutting tables nearby and one or two people are usually rummaging through the bins for matching pieces and laying out potential projects on them. This seems to be encouraged, and it's a great feature of the store. They are well stocked with bolts of all kinds of fabric for normal non-discounted retail, including blanket-weight, worsted, and Melton wool, and a rainbow of colors of their eco blend fabric. They also have tables full of pre-cut yardage. The prices vary a ton- one piece will be $40/yard and another could be $6. So if you're on a budget, be sure to look at everything you like and don't assume. They also carry a range of Cascade yarns in solid colors, and seem to have sales on it frequently. The staff are friendly, helpful, and seem willing/able to bargain a little bit on the things I buy not sure what your odds would be asking for a discount on, like, a coat, but I've asked for and received one on a thread cone that was much smaller than the others and initially priced the same. The lady I spoke with about it was very gracious and it was as non-embarrassing as bargaining ever gets!. Physically it's a beautiful store, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light.
Really neat stuff for sale. Crafting stuff for me, sewing wool for mom, beautiful warm blankets for grampa. Just a really neat store.
Always love going to Pendleton for craft supplies! Needle felting, crocheting and knitting supplies, fabric a plenty. So many items for quick gifts too. Another time stopping by and stocked up on carded and roving wool, the biggest felting pad I've found and new felting needles
I was told to check out the Mill by a woman I met at a Seattle craft fair who makes the drive to Portland just for this store. It was totally worth it and I had a lot of fun browsing the fabric bolts and sewing supplies. They also have retail such as clothes, blankets, coffee cups, home decor for those who may not be avid sewers. They have remnant bins available to treasure hunt through and they charged $5 a pound for most and $1 a pound for a select style. I was looking for fabric to make a patchwork quilt with so remnants were perfect and much more affordable. Some of the pieces were 2m x 1.5ft wide and others were only 8inches wide and a yard wide... it varies in between Staff at the register were very friendly and talked about sewing projects they were working on and asked what my project was. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Portland and probably bring an extra suitcase for fabric .
If you have a fetish for this icon of western culture, you'll be happy to picking up clothing , blankets, etc to supplement your wardrobe and household. If fiber arts are your thing sewing/knitting/crocheting/weaving you'll be in bliss. Wool! Yarn in myriad colours. Yardage in numerous patterns, solids, and weights. And the bargain fabrics!!!!
The outlet store was very interesting. Has remnants and wool for rug making. Foraged the best blackberries we have ever eaten in the fence row outside the store.
Perfect for finding gifts for others, fabrics for your own sewing projects at a discount. Bought fabric to recover our dining room chairs and it turned out fabulous!
