If I could give this place negative stars I would. My husband and I had to leave the night we arrived. This facility is nothing like it’s described online or in the pictures. It was dirty and the door to our room was very insecure and easily broken into. The lock was rotten looked like termites had eaten through the wood. I found a wad of human hair in the tissue box. The pool was not blue but light brown bc of how dirty it was. The entire place felt old and out dated. The management was a joke and they didn’t seem to care about their customers experience or resolving any issues. DO NOT STAY HERE it’s a waste of money. Overpriced for the quality and I’m not sure how this places qualifies as a “4 star” hotel.
I have stayed at other places in the Island that are over priced and old so I am not one to critique on something so small like an elevator looking old. Well this was not the case today, . Peninsula’s room was clean and modern. The staff were friendly . The huge pool was so nice. Big enough where it even had a separate pool section and the pool was heated . It has a jacuzzi. It had beach access. I’m definitely staying here again. If some one was to complain they might be used to something like a $1000 dollar a night hotel. I’m here to have fun not to complain.
Negative stars!!!!!! This facility is not a resort it is not up to code. It is horrifying and you cannot cancel your reservation once you were there, or change it at that fact. It is nothing like it’s described online or in the pictures the pool is dirty and needs to be resurfaced unless you want cuts all over the bottom of your feet. It was dirty the icemaker does not work and the front desk has no idea what they are doing nor do they know how many icemakers do they have they will send you on a scavenger hunt only to find out they have two on the first floor which do not work. I went to the front desk to let them know that the shower was not working. They never addressed the situation and then they never even clean the room. When asked if they could do a light cleaning and address the shower issue? Never happened!!! When taking a shower the entire bathroom would fill with water I asked if restock towels. The entire place felt old and out dated. The management was a joke and they didn’t seem to care about their customers experience or resolving any issues these people will make you park so far from your room. DO NOT STAY HERE it’s a waste of money. Overpriced for the quality and I’m not sure how this places qualifies as a “4 star” hotel it’s more like shut this place down!
This resort seems a bit out of time. Front gate which was once locked and manned abandoned and wide open. Difficult to tell where the office is as the parking lot is quite far from it. You can and should drive the narrow path that looks like it's for a half cart to the front and unload but we weren't the only ones confused where to go. It's a place that's showing age with worn out walls and pathways. The elevator had tile floor that was broken and felt sketchy. Nice pool and deck to chill by the beach. The room wouldn't cool below 71 which is not ideal. Room was clean which is really all we needed. Got charged a resort fee on checkin for something I guess, breakfast is provided, as long as all you want is cereal or two pancakes. They were good and the restaurant staff were great. Overall for price, and clean room, it's good.
Great location and room at their price point when booking through Expedia don't pay extra for breakfast, it's already included! The front desk is pretty chill and helpful especially when it comes to saving you money. The facility is clean. I believe everyone's favorite amenity is the warm pool on the beach side. It's great to come back to after getting cold/wet in the ocean. The staff is nice and welcoming, but the only thing that docked a star under service for me was that the breakfast situation is confusing. I wasn't sure what was included because when you get down to the breakfast area there's juice, milk not labeled if whole or not, cereal, breads, and spreads... then someone comes up and gives you pancakes. I didn't know if I was able to order other breakfast items like eggs/bacon/sausage. I believe they are still working on the parking area, so the current one being used is a bit of a walk from the front desk which is hard to find; it's at the right building. There is staff who will take you/belongings to and from parking to the front desk area in a golf cart when available. The channel selection in the room is great, especially for kids! Rooms: Very clean and well-maintained. You don't have to ask for the room to be cleaned when you go out for the day. The style of shower glass/tile is great because there's no shower curtain to fumble with. It would be nice if there was a way to safely hang clothes to dry on the balcony. Safety: I felt very safe, there was always helpful staff walking around. There is even a lost-and-found at the front office where staff has picked up items a small sand toy was blown away from our 5th floor balcony and was returned!
If you book here because it's a 4 star be prepared to see a 2-3 star hotel that is trying to be a resort. The elevator has large holes and a boken floor cover with 2 rugs. The main office looks worse than a motel 6 that is ran down. The room I was in has a door joing to the other room. There is no way to secure it during your stay, you can be asleep and your neighbor enter or rob you. The lock has no cover on the other side and can be opened with a pair of pliers or your fingers. The other door was the same way, half the lock is missing. The pool is nice i really enjoyed it besides the broken hot tub, restaurant/bar is average, nothing great. I enjoyed my stay with the family due to location but was in disgust and fear from the lack of security and destroyed elevator that more than likely in illegal opperation. I do not recommend this place if you are expecting a 4 star resort but I enjoyed my stay on the beach. There is no beach view rooms, don't be fooled by the partial sea view rooms.
DON"T STAY HERE - We stayed at the Peninsula Resort this past weekend and reserved a Presidential Suite room.  Security gates wide open and abandoned security station. Front desk difficult to find. Doors to rooms rotted and chipping faded paint throughout resort & room. Breakfast is a joke. In addition, when I checked in, the representative was drinking beer while checking me in and was unprofessional. At checkin, I gave them a different card to charge for the room than the one I reserved. They ended up charging the wrong card on top of everything else and didn't even give me the pathetic -$50 off they promised. The view from the room is amazing. However, the room is outdated, the tub has rust on it, the fans & lamps were covered in dust, it was dirty, smelled funny.  The room has potential to be great, however, with how dirty & outdated it is, this room is NOT WORTH THE $580/night they charge! It does NOT feel like the caliber of room you would expect for the money, it felt like a motel 6.  Furthermore, when I presented management with my concerns, they dismissed me and only offered a -$50 off concession for the subpar outdated, dirty room.  Unprofessional. Lack integrity. Outdated. Dirty. Save your money and go somewhere else!
After reading the other reviews, I wanted to cancel the room. However, I booked via Booking do not recommend that app service at all and there was no cancellation option. So we had no choice but to check-in. Upon checking in, the person at the desk was friendly enough. The room did not smell like mold. There were no cockroaches or bugs of any kind in the room or at the facility that I noticed and I looked after reading these reviews. The person checking me out was also friendly and friendly again when I called about the routine hold charge pending in my account for the room did not end up getting charged. I was not charged for anything additional, but also did not use the in-room snacks/drinks or leave a mess. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the bar/restaurant not being open later or possibly at all? However, it was a nice walk on the beach to the hotels on either side to patronize their hotel bar/restaurants. I do see the sea air has taken a toll on the outside structure as it does with most hotels on the beach, but overall we were pleasantly surprised by our experience.
