Good food, avg service but the restaurant was pretty gross. Tables and floors were OK, but the soda machine and especially the tea dispensers haven't been washed in a very long time. When I was handed the basket with my sub I had to wash my hands after touching it. It was so thick with old grease and grime that it was sticky. They don't seem to wash the baskets or much of anything beyond tables. I recommend a different location if cleanliness matters.
We visited the Penn Station store on State Route 256 I ordered a large Chicken Philly with sautéed onions mushrooms and grilled peppers on white bread with mayonnaise and a large fry. My wife ordered a Steak Philly with onions and a medium fry. We also ordered a large and a medium lemonade. Our order came to thirty-two dollars and some odd cents which upon seeing the amount of food that we received, seemed to be a bit pricey. We were promptly greeted upon walking into the store probably because I came in snapping pictures and telling them that this was my first visit and that I would be doing a Google review. The gentleman was very polite in helping us decide what to order. We ordered our food to go because of Covid-19 and there wasn't anyone else dining inside of this particular location. The restaurant was clean and everyone had on masks and gloves as far as I could tell. The food was still pretty warm by the time we got home. My wife tried hers first and said the lemonade reminded her of the ones from the State Fair. I was intentionally trying to scrutinize my meal and must say that I have no complaints besides the price. Which attributes to the 4 stars. My chicken was tender and my veggies were too, I proceeded to devour the whole large sub and my wife ate all of hers as well, fries too! Which I forgot to mention were fresh cut, my favorite kind. Keep up the good work PNS we'll see you soon!
Overall, the worst Penn Station I have been too. The place needs cleaned. All the furniture I touched was sticky and gross. My tee shirt stuck to the chair. They gave the worst large fry order, only order these if you prefer inch long over cooked pieces that have been sitting for hours. They were super minimalistic on the veggies too. So many options on 256 to eat, this is not one to visit.
**check for the handprints on the TV top right corner / fingerprints all over the screen - they have been there for years.** thank me later This place is filthy. The customer service is trash. The only reason people would come is for the food, because Penn station as a corporation has a food menu / flavor profile that others don’t: that’s the only reason people would come here. I don’t go here often, maybe a few times a year at most. Each time is is incredibly dirty. 2 visits ago, I walked right out after waiting several minutes to be helped by someone. My last visit, waited again for about 3-4 minutes, after waiting 1-2 mins to be acknowledged- you should acknowledge the customers as they come in, it’s not difficult. Again, the place was sticky, dusty, etc - even sitting down felt super gross. Waited forever. They didn’t have my side toppings of lettuce and tomato. I asked for them. Of course, they seemed put off - and rather than even f’ing replying to me politely asking about it, I don’t even get acknowledgment. Instead they bark an order to their co worker to do it - co worker does it, then the barking lady UN-DID it because she wanted to use different to go containers. The girl she barked at made a nice bed of lettuce w tomatoes in a flat container. The barking lady instead crammed 30% of it into small f’ing sauce cups. What a dumb thing to do, a rude thing to do, an egotistical thing to do. It wasn’t wasteful, instead, this person wasted more containers. Every nuance of the visits here is so f’ing frustrating, I think I’m done. At least this location. I’ll go to the OG places that know what they’re doing. In 2010 this place was good. It hasn’t been for at least 8 years.
The staff here is amazing... They were very friendly and helpful and not just to the customer but to each other as well. I was very impressed with the the gentlemen working there. They did was well prepared and they went above and beyond with excellent customer service. I have another penn station closer to my home but I would drive the extra miles to come to this location for the service... The world need more of this
Quality of sandwich and fries was mediocre, at best. While prices have nearly doubled. If you're going to charge more, then quality of food should match the price.Food: 3/5
My first time at Penn Station! Delightful staff, well-kept/ clean restaurant, great quality! Philly cheesesteak is amaaaaazing!!!!... Better than Jersey Mike’s and Subway! Prices are great too! Update: I’ve been ordering food from here about once a week. There are a few employees that work here that are beyond amazing! MARLEETA IS GREAT! She is always smiling, has a great attitude, and is very thorough in her work at Penn Station. She deserves a raise, if you ask me! I can’t say enough how wonderful and pleasant Marleeta is!!
The staff always seems annoyed that we are there to eat. Second visit in a month where zero tables were clean despite an empty store. At one point 4 of 5 employees were watching the tv in the lobby. My favorite part is how our food never comes out as ordered. I’m done with PS!
Went back for the first time in a while and it was excellent. Food was super hot, fresh, and seasoned.Food: 5/5
It wasn't as good as I remember. It was way too salty. The lemonade was delicious. Usually not a fan of fresh lemonade that's not homemade but they have the mixture right. They fresh cut their fries too. But somehow I got a basket of nibblets, tiny end pieces not many long fries. The worst part was I paid $18 for a medium sized meal for just me. I know prices are crazy right now but I could never bring my family. Wheelchair accessibility: They don't have it.
