Description

The Pennington County Courthouse, located at 301 St. Joseph Street in Rapid City, is the county courthouse serving Pennington County, South Dakota. The courthouse has functioned as the seat of Pennington County government since it was built in 1922. Architecture firm W.E. Halse and Company designed the building in the Beaux-Arts style. The three-story building is built from Indiana limestone and has terra cotta trim. The two-story front entrance is divided into sections by four pairs of Ionic columns; three large arched windows decorated with muntin and topped by keystones decorate the three main sections. The entrance, located at what would be the bottom of the middle window, features iron grilles on its windows and transom and is topped by a cartouche. A frieze with ornamental medallions and a dentillated cornice surround the building above its second story.The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 28, 1976.

Most unbelievably useless help I have EVER gotten from anyone in Rapid City, ever. The representative looked up my name, number, lots of other info, and said there is "nothing at all in our systems," but I've recently been having important letters going to a wrong address from over two years ago from the literal "Clerk of Courts" Pennington county, so I find this highly unlikely. The rep got defensive if I asked if there is anyone else who can help me. 0/5.
They were soo rude! I arrived exactly 10 minutes before closing time to address a very simple matter, and they literally closed the gate in my face! I told them I got there as soon as I could, right after work and it would only take a couple minutes but they didn't care at all. And they call themselves public servants! Unbelievable..
Says office hours are 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm I called 3 times now after 1pm at 1:30pm 1:45pm and it’s almost 2pm and I’m still getting the same message for office hours then it hangs up as if nobody is even at the office, like their not open right now. They must be ignoring people, or they’re simple not at the office during office hours. Very poor service. People have things to do.... and yes it says you’re supposed to be open today too. Smh
Good show. I appreciate the pomp and circumstance of this theatre of law. In spite of the accreditation that the South Dakota highway patrol chooses not to hold; cases still stand. As astounding as this is that an armed organized agency of this nature can do that. It is true. They literally have the option to not hold themselves accountable to ethics. Good show, South Dakota, good show. So, please, remember to check your law enforcement officers credentials. Apparently that is the citizens responsibility, not the court's.
Useless from start to finish. From the receptionist to the judge. I hope you don't have to ever go here for anything. Prepare yourself. It's bad.
Rude over the phone. Called about information on a conviction date of mine from years ago and the lady was rude and talked down to me about what I was asking like our 3 min conversation was such an inconvenience in her day.
No wait time in my case and friendly service from both people I talked to
Always answers the phone fast and they have always been kind.
Called about restitution owed to me as a victim...they hold on to victims money as long as they can for the interest incurred from the bank WAY TO VICTIMIZE THE VICTIMS AGAIN...MISERABLE BAS.....!!!
