Description

Pensacola Memorial Gardens was founded in 1954 by Harry and Mildred Sutton. Their basic philosophy was to build a memorial park cemetery of beauty - one that provides a place of serenity and depicts LIFE, HOPE, LOVING CARE, and a NEW BEGINNING; also, a cemetery that would have perpetual care (continued and indefinite upkeep) throughout the centuries, even after all spaces are filled.

Today only 25 of the 61 acre memorial park have been developed, leaving plenty of space for continued growth. Current projects include the development of 6 acres, facilitating 5000 burial lots, to include a columbarium for above ground inurnments, and a vision to further develop an additional mausoleum for above ground burial, upright monuments, and an attractive center, focal piece featuring a water fountain to add to the serenity of the gardens. Our additional acreage is surrounded by 167 Arizona Cypress trees creating an esthetic natural border & is an extension of our historical gardens, offering more space to accommodate Pensacolian heritage. Statues of Christ, the Last Supper, and the Apostles sculpted in Italy from pure Carrara marble by renowned artists are a few of the features that enhance the beauty of the gardens. Our gardens also include a recently developed Veterans Garden with a monument honoring all who’ve served. Our gardens are fully irrigated and maintained with regard to perpetual care.

Louise (“Weejee”) Sutton Miller became the President of Pensacola Memorial Gardens in 1987 after her father's death and her mother's retirement. She oversaw the construction of the Funeral Home in 1995. Weejee’s dream was to provide families with the convenience of a funeral home on cemetery property where families could walk or drive a very short distance to the gravesite after services to eliminate the need for commute to an across town cemetery. Weejee passed away on March 4, 2012 after a short illness at which time her children David, Karina, and Dianne proudly acquired ownership. All three of Weejees children are as committed to this community as their mother and are determined to build on her legacy. PMG is still the only family owned and operated cemetery and funeral home combination in the area which brings great pride to the many long term employees and staff.

We are committed to serving families. Our purpose is to continue to maintain a beautiful memorial park and to provide families with professional, traditional religious services of all faiths as well as nontraditional, non religious, spiritual or non denominational services. Our facility is decorated with light colors & natural sunlight creating a comfortable environment where we welcome you to make yourself at home. Our chapel accommodates approximately 120 people and includes a state of the art sound system, and two 55" flat screen TV's with which we are able to facilitate many audio & visual needs. We also have the capability to live stream your loved ones services privately and securely on the internet to those family members who are unable to attend. It is with great pride & pleasure that we assist you in the remembrance of your loved one.

My grandfather, Gregory, passed back in October. He wanted to be buried here with his parents. These people helped us sooo much through the process. They definitely did more than they had to do and will too for your family. I have the most respect and appreciation for them. I would also like to give Jerald a special shout out for being so awesome! Thank you and extra thanks for doing the picture show for us, as well as for having our backs when a 1-800-flowers order was wrong. We got a full refund from that. Lastly, I wanted to thank y'all for keeping the obituary up. It means so much to me and I have made a habit of visiting it at least every other night. I can't let myself forget him... If anyone is thinking of residing here then please go visit them. Talk to the staff. The place is beautiful and they take great care of everything. I'm sorry if anyone has had a bad experience, but I could definitely not see Jerald treating anyone bad. If we had a problem, it was fixed immediately. Communication is key -Desireé
We recently laid my father to rest and working with Jerald Mitchell was a blessing. He was compassionate and professional and made us all feel so at ease. We appreciate how well everything went and how easy they made it for the family.
The memorial service they have every year sure is a nice time to be with the ones we've been blessed with and others who feel the same.
Couldn’t picture any better place to lay my mother to rest! Thank you for all yalls hard work of keeping the grounds in perfect condition! Thank you! Y’all rock
This facility was of great assistance when our mother passed in Dec 2020 due to just getting old. They were compassionate, and caring. And were the same with our mother when dad passed in 2008. They were very understanding with me in getting the financial aspects worked out. I can't ever thank them enough for being there for us and their caring.
The services offered at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens are exceptional. The staff were very responsive to the needs of our family and loved ones during our time of mourning. They were punctual, organized, and anticipated all of our needs. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the facility is equipped with the proper technology required for remote viewing of the services over the internet or other social media platforms. Our family will use this business again.
Large room for the memorial service with 2 large TVs for your photo memories before and after. Lots of parking available too.
My family has used the services of this funeral home for well over 40 years , my great grandparents , my aunt ,uncle great uncle , grandparents, and even my dad and sadly one day my mother will also be buried here , they have always been very respectful to my family and was always friendly . the only bad thing i can honestly say is some people who feel the need to steal flowers from a loved ones grave is not only disrespectful but also dishonorable , no it andwasnt a staff member just some random lady who thought it was ok , this happened years ago when my grandfather passed away , . much love to the staff and thank u for all ur hard work u all do .
In the beginning we had a pleasant time. Everyone was very forthcoming and helped us get through our difficult time. But this weekend we went to go visit our dad, who passed away in March of this year. Much to our surprise we get out there to find that his place marker had been taken up. We had to call today after our scheduled appointment time with Mickey, whom with spoke to on Saturday, to talk to Randy, with no condolences or any of type or apology other than “people die everyday and we need the markers.” We understand that. But the least that could have been done was a courtesy phone call letting us know that it was going to be taken so that when we finally decide we are ready to visit, what we think might be the spot our father is buried, we are not caught off guard. How heartbroken my sister was not being able to find her father this past Saturday. How devastated his wife would be, who has not yet had the emotional strength to visit his grave yet. So we called, only to be told we would get an explanation on Monday and still no one called. We had to call the funeral home. During the burial process we were NEVER told that after thirty days with no headstone that his marker would be taken. So next time a family can not place a headstone in the allotted time PLEASE inform them that after 30 days the marker will/could be taken for the next person who needs to be laid to rest, do not just carelessly take a loved ones marker with out letting the family know. It’s heartbreaking to want to visit your loved ones grave and not be able to find them. As far as off duty hours, you could always place a magazine stand outside with a map of the cemetery to help give the loved ones a general idea of where everything is. Because we knew the general location of our fathers burial just not the exact spot. People do not forget the general area of their buried loved ones.
This place was outstanding, very helpful and patient. Service was exactly as requested, Navy honor guard was very professional and a great compliment for my Uncles 26 years Navy Career Korean and Viet Nam vetereran. Would highly recommend Memorial Gardens for any funeral services.
