The people's food co-op Farmers market is the close-knit of local vendors who provide a vast array of organic products. Everyone always has a smile on their face year-round. I always walk away with a bounty. Go check them out it's worth your time. They're there every Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m.
I absolution love the CO-OP! My partner and I are members here, and when we can't make it to the farmers market, we'll come here to buy the local and organic food. They also have some other non food products as well. We love to buy the produce plants to bring home for our garden. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and kind! The store itself is clean and welcoming! This place is great when you want to buy quality items while still supporting local businesses.
Fantastic grocery for health food, a great selection of bulk herbs, foods and teas, as well as unusual culinary items. Wide selection of local kombucha. The store itself is homey, like some 70's earthship plopped down in Southeast Portland. I can appreciate their still requiring masks when most stores no longer care.
Lovely market with great stuff!! The roasted hazelnut-chocolate-cherry trail mix was so awesome that i bought a bunch of it to gift to Hawaiʻi folks! Prices were good and systems solid. Great staff. Awesome deli items, especially the vegan items. I am not even vegan, but was blown away by the quality and taste. Great selection of bulk herbs and spices - I had to tear myself away! Membership is reasonable, worthwhile, and actually refundable. I was only passing through the area, but my month membership purchase has already paid for itself and i will not be asking for a refund! We good! I highly recommend this place!
People's is one of the most compact co-ops I've been to, and yet, I find everything I need. I spend most of my time here with their bulk products. Their looseleaf tea options are wonderful.
Great local market everything you'd need to buy food to cook at home. Good place to go for a quick snack or for juice. Lots of healthy and local/organic food options. The building showcases a lot of cob earthen building technique which makes for very unique architecture. Membership is 30$ per year and then free after 6 years, if you're a member then you can attend their yoga classes for free although The Corona Virus has temporarily put a stop to that. But they still have gardening classes.
If you are going to position yourselves as caring about community, then why aren’t you requiring masks any longer? It is a contradiction. You can’t cave into anti masker’s social pressures and pretend like you actually care about the community after that. Community care involves ALL members of the community.
Favorite local grocery shop, great produce selection and lots of vegan and vegetarian options!
Oh man do I love Portland's food scene! The trucks in particular, are a joy! You can try every continent's food right in one parking lot. I know better, but this time, as it was my first day at a new job so I don't know what's around me, I ordered at the window of one of the trucks, rather than calling my order in. Mistake! As I know, custom cooked food takes time! I just didn't know, as it was my first time. Had GREAT shawarma, the "number 20" falafel plate. The falafel was freshly made and fried.b The rice was well flavored, and the hummus was a bit bland could use a splash of fresh lemon juice, and maybe a sprinkle of coarse salt on top?, But the Zatar was a nice addition! The cucumber dressing was fresh, the spicy sauce was delicious and not nearly hot enough, but that's because I'm a spice hunting moron! Most people would think it's HOT! All in all, a good first experience, and knowing what I know, I'm gonna call my order in ahead of time to all the trucks from now on!
Great grocery store with fresh produce and other nice products. Also, they are a Co-op!
