Proudly providing Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services for the Village of Peoria Heights since 1917
The Peoria Heights Fire Department was originally chartered in 1917 to provide fire protection for the village and its inhabitants. We’ve grown over the years and now provide fire suppression, fire prevention, technical rescue response (vehicle accidents, elevator rescues), and emergency medical services within our 2.3 square mile response area. We run approximately 850 calls per year, which on average equates to approximately 2.3 calls per day. Our department is staffed with trained volunteer Firefighter/Rescue personnel running out of two stations so that we can quickly and effectively respond to any emergencies that come our way. We were also recently rated a “Class 4” agency by the Insurance Services Office. This office helps recommend rates to home insurance providers in the area and rated departments on a scale from Class 1 (highest/best) to Class 11 (lowest/worst); the closer to Class 1 the department is, the lower the homeowner’s insurance in the area is (generally speaking, of course).
