Pepe's Place

It is one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It was not only the food that was excellent but also the service that was excellent. When my friend and I finished eating, the chef came out and asked us what we thought of the food. As brutally honest as possible, I told him what I thought. This restaurant is a must-try for everyone. Please show your support. It's a decision you won't regret.

The food is delicious. I am a big fan of their buffalo and sweet Thai chili but definitely the Buffalo shrimp, yams, Mac and cheese and Mediterranean rice. Their individual cheesecakes are so cute and delicious. Please give this place a try.

I ordered from this place because it had good ratings and serves halal food which the person working there assured me of as well. Pretty much all of the food was delicious, especially the NY Buffalo Shrimp. I’ve never had shrimp like that before and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The Mac and cheese as well as the yams were also great, but the platters were just alright. The person working behind the counter was really friendly and I enjoyed interacting with him. I’d definitely like to come back for more.

First of all, superb food overall. I was traveling through New Rochelle and saw this Halal place on google maps. I stepped and was greeted by the dude at the counter, very pleasant man and very cool soul music. My from Brooklyn, like an hour to 1 1/2 away from home, so I ordered more food so that I could really taste and rate this place. I ordered the Moroccan Style Lamb Gyro 5/5, the NY Style Buffalo Shrimp 3/5 with fries 4/5 along with Tarter Sauce and Coleslaw. I finished this with their famous Mac n Cheese 3/5 and their signature Fruit Punch 5/5. Overall, the Lamb Gyro and fruit punch were amazing. The Mac n cheese and the Shrimp seemed like they were from a high end restaurant, but personally I like my Mac and cheese more cheesy and the shrimp sauce was too sweet. This place still gets a 4/5, very nice. No bathroom though :

I first tried Pepe's during late 2020 or early 2021 when many restaurants were fighting to stay open. Anytime I want to treat myself, the Thai Chili Shrimp meal is the ticket! Delicious and well balanced. Customer service is pleasant and the food has been consistent!

Best fried shrimp dinner I’ve ever had. Large delicious shrimp with the perfect crunch. I got the Thai chili sauce on the side. It also came with delicious homemade skin-on hand cut fries. Also, what they call their tarter sauce is really a high-end garlic aioli, which is awesome on both the shrimp and fries. A small simple coleslaw is also included, which was refreshing. While my order was being prepared I got the pleasure of chatting with Marshall,; a very nice experience and amazing food. I’ll be back!

So delicious, try the fried fish, buffalo shrimp, and mac and cheese. The homemade fruit punch is the best I've ever had. Not a huge selection but it's not necessary because everything is so good. Great service: thorough and helpful. Only a few stools to sit on, it really is a storefront restaurant.

The food was not good. I ordered fried fish with basamati rice and salad. The fish was not seasoned at all and some pieces were a little fishy tasting. The rice had onions tomatoes and cabbage I think in it. I’m a picky eater but also didn’t expect that. And the salad was in the plate with hot food getting soggy and there was dressing on it already. I was never asked if I wanted dressing or what type. Waste of my money. The older black gentleman was very polite and was coming to my car to notify me my food was ready. That was the best part of the meal.

Yummmm! I’m not usually one for fried fish/shrimp and soul food, but I was having a rough day and needed something deep fried. This food was soo satisfying! Hubby and I tried the Thai shrimp, Buffalo shrimp, fried fish, yams, mustard greens and Mac and cheese yeah we went in! . The fish was phenomenal, crisp, flavorful but not really greasy. Both shrimps were good, but I preferred the Thai. The Buffalo shrimp had more heat than flavor…. And no blue cheese dressing?!? The greens were excellent. I LOVED the Mac and cheese. It wasn’t typical soul food Mac and cheese… it was a bit more simple in flavor. My husband did not like it. Ha! He loved the yams, but they were too sweet for me. All in all a very satisfying meal. Definitely recommended if you want something indulgent.
