I bought my mountain bike frame second hand and my road bike at RBM. Been taking them both here for several years. Not a big fan of their bikes as I’m pretty hard on my equipment. It’s not to say this place is perfect as I’ve had issues recently where I had to take the roadie in multiple times for the same issue. But ever since I got connected to Jack the mechanic & familiar with Ryan the store manager I see no reason to go elsewhere. Jack is older than both my bikes put together so his knowledge is impressive.
I went in looking to purchase a new mountain bike. I worked with Kyle in sales and he was able to answer all my questions about sizing and components. The guys in the shop were very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to my tech questions. Cory took the time to make sure my suspension was setup properly before I went out to the trails. The selection all around was decent. If they did not have what I was looking for in the store they were able to locate it from their site or special order. The staff was all very nice and showed a genuine passion for cycling. Great Experience.
The staff, Mr Arne, if I still remember correctly his name, has been super helpful. He walked me through everything and ensured the bike fit me well. I even had a chance to try the bike out before I bought it. He did not rush me or force me to bike. He was dedicated and knowledgeable to provide me all the details. Thanks for th great experience!! I definitely come back. oh forgot to mention they have Lifetime adjustment as well. Perfect.
Bought two bikes here for myself and my girlfriend. Their sales people are knowledgeable, helpful and don't try to up-sell you. Apparently the sales people don't work on commission. They're extremely patient I came in and test rode my bike 3 times before I made a my decision and go above and beyond. I can't recommend them enough!!!
I can't say enough about the guys at PB- Midway. As I considered where to go to get back into road biking after many years I stopped by since they are close to my home. I was really wanting a local bike shop with whom I could build a relationship and was super skeptical about going to a regional chain. Dave, Ryan and rest of staff are super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in every way. They even recommended how to take advantage of the upcoming sales - which are many join the buyers club for 10% savings to get an additional 20% on certain sales. Prices here are outstanding and sales are frequent. My wife and I are so pleased that I found our LBS!!!
The reviews about the staff being rude are 100% true. I asked about purchasing a bike for my wife. One of the employees wouldn't show me any bikes without my wife being with me. Surprise birthday gift, and I knew the exact size, make, and colors she liked. I went down the street, purchased an awesome bike that she loves. Said employee missed out on a $1,000+ dollar sale, and a loyal customer to boot.
I'm a beginner in cycling and went in shopping for a new bike. Very friendly personnel. They greeted me when I walked in and asked how they could help. They listened to what I was looking for and then gave great recommendations and explanations on the bikes that fit what I was looking for. Even though I didn't buy a bike, I walked out with a much better understanding of bikes.
One way to rate a company is by their “service after the sale.” In my case, I didn’t purchase my bike from Performance. Rather, I purchased a second-hand Mountain Bike one I’d diligently searched for on eBay. The seller had listed the bike as “pick-up only.” Prior to purchase, I contacted the seller and asked if he knew of any good bike shops that might ship the bike. He suggested I contact Performance. I made the call with no expectations. Manager Scott Gates took my call. To my surprise, Scott put my mind at ease as he told me they’d be able to disassemble the bike and ship it to me in Stamford, Connecticut. He was up front with pricing estimated, very reasonable and the price I paid and a rough shipping date – and he was most personable. Performance’s communication was great, right down to providing a tracking number and advising the date the bike shipped, email from Scott. The bike was well packaged and arrived on time. My experience as a “non customer” was stellar, and a measure of what great customer service can and should be. Scott and Performance get an easy 5-STARS for their magnificent customer service. In just the few years I've been going here, they've nothing but exceptional service. So it brings me great sadness to say they're going through a chapter 11 bankruptcy right now. A lot of pressure being the countries largest bicycle shop. Great shop, great people. Wish them the Best.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are competitive, great selection of gear and accessories. The main bike brand appears to be Fuji at least for road bikes. Would recommend visiting. For those that care.. They do have group rides
