Pernat Haase Meats

Friendly staff and quality meats, smoked sausages, sticks, etc. PS gotta drive around the backside of the building for the entryway.

I’m very dissatisfied with my recent interaction with Pernat-Haase meats in Juneau. We dropped off two cows the night before they were to be butchered, which is a standard practice. The next morning I get a call saying that one of the cows attempted to jump the fence, got caught in the fence, and died. Since he died prior to slaughter, his carcass is now condemned. Finally, over a month after this happened I’ve been told that the insurance company won’t cover it, so I’m basically out of luck. We raised this cow for two years. A lot of time, money, and sweat went into that. Now it’s just gone with nothing to show for it. I could understand if he had died of natural causes, then it would not be their fault. However, as mentioned he was dropped off very much alive and healthy. The processing seemed good for the cow we were able to get butchered. I don’t think we will be willing to use their services anymore.

never been let down here! deer /venison always great texture and flavor , can not be beat...I will travel the distance to come back again and again ! also they have great bacon ect ect

Had 1/2 beef processed there. Very prompt and well done. Also, I was looking for nitrate-free sausage and bought their "all-natural". It was so good! Bought 5 packages and thought I'd have enough packages to freeze but my family scarfed it all down in a matter of 4 days! I will be back!

We ordered a whole beef from them. Long story short, we had an exceptional loss percentage and we called for an explanation and were insulted and told the scales were accurate. They could not produce any explanation or answer to our question. I contacted the owner for an explanation or clarification and received no response. We will be looking elsewhere for a whole beef for now on.

Have had my deer processed with Pernat many times through the years. I've tried others & have always come back! They are consistently good on many levels. After trying many different hot sticks these here, are second to none!

My dad took his deer to be processed in October at the Juneau location. He called a month or so later to check on it. He was told it would be done in less than 2 weeks that they were very busy and would contact him. He heard nothing, called this week was told it was done a month ago around the same time he called and that someone left him a message. He ended up with no fresh cuts steaks, they said they were grinded down after a certain time. Will never come here again. Very disappointing.

So excited for prime rib. Cooked exactly as directions specified RAW not rare or medium rare. When I called to tell them the lady said, "what do you want me to do about it, you cooked it". Terrible customer service and a huge waste of money! Will never buy again!

They have some great cuts! The garlic summer sausage is the best I've had. There snack sticks don't last long in our house either

Brought in 3 hogs for slaughter. Lost one buyer for next year already as Pernats did not listen to the way he wanted it. They wanted a ham NOT ham steaks! I will not even take any more deer here after this nightmare! After 10 years of bring them deer to process! As a new hog farmer in the area this makes it frustrating. I will be looking for some where new for deer processing and slaughter. First impression are everything. Now they have lost a new possible client for hogs but for all the deer our family and friends shoot. PERNATS WILL NOT CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE OR MAKE IT RIGHT WITH MY BUYER! What kind of buisness is this?
