The Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the residents of Perry and Union Townships since 1959.
Perry Township is located on the west side of Evansville in western Vanderburgh County. The Township is surrounded on 3 sides by the winding Ohio River. Established in 1959, this all-volunteer department includes 45 personnel and 12 apparatus that respond from 3 stations. PTFD provides Fire, Rescue, Water Rescue and Medical First-Response protection to the residents of Perry and Union Townships. Their area includes 55 square miles and 25,400 residents including the University of Southern Indiana (USI).
Perry Township Fire Department currently has 5 Engines, 1 2,000 gallon Tanker/Pumper, 1 Medic/Rescue, 1 Rescue/Squad, 2 Brush Trucks, 1 100 ft Quint, 1 26 ft jet drive boat, 1 18 ft Boat, 1 Inflatable Boat, 1 Rehab Truck, 1 Chief Truck, and 1 Utility Vehicle.
