Owned by Perth Amboy Uniformed Firefighters Historical Association
The PAUFFHA seeks to engage the entire community in our effort to restore the 1921 American La France. This truck was shipped from the manufacture on November 12, 1921, to Cities Service Oil Co. It was used as a fire brigade apparatus for many years. Then, it was donated to the Perth Amboy Fire Department in 1979. The truck was in local parades and used to help raise money for muscular dystrophy. Sometime time there after, the truck was removed from the fire house and placed in a shipping container for reasons unknown. Just recently our department has learned of the whereabouts of the truck. According to the Nebraska Firefighters Museum and Education Center the truck was donated to their facility approximately 10 years ago. The museum chairperson contacted us this spring and thought we might be interested in buying back the truck. The PAUFFHA has purchased the fire truck and is committed to the restoration and preservation of this piece of history! Please help support us in our mission.
Our mission is to collect, preserve, present, and educate about fire history and the cultural heritage of the fire service. Help support Perth Amboy Firefighters Local 286 to fulfill its' mission of preserving and restoring a piece of Fire Department history.
