Peru Elementary School District 124, commonly referred to as Peru Public Schools, serves the community of Peru, Illinois, a city of 10,000 residents located in north central Illinois. Peru ESD 124 has just under 1,000 students in three attendance centers: Northview Elementary School (grades PreK - 1), Washington Elementary School (grades 2 - 4), and Parkside Middle School (grades 5 - 8). The district feeds into LaSalle-Peru High School. Some parents choose to send their children to St. Bede Academy, a private high school located in Peru.
Originally established in 1840, the school district has a long standing tradition of academic excellence. The district offers its students a rich curriculum including preschool, gifted education, state of the art technology, an outstanding fine arts program and a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
As a matter of policy, Peru Elementary School District 124 does not intend for our Facebook page to replace any other form of communication within the district. Rather, this simply provides an additional method of communicating and sharing information with our students, parents and the local community.
