My dog had a mild skunk incident at night which I treated with peroxide, baking soda and Dawn liquid soap. Next day I took him to swim in lake to exercise. Then went into store. Stacy and gentlemen were empathetic and extremely helpful. They immediately got me a de-skunk shampoo and I gave my dog a bath in store. They were attentive and friendly. Thanks for helping me get through a tough time.
I've always had a great experience here. Except for one time, I had an older gentleman roll his eyes at me when I asked to get one more shrimp from the tank.. But other than that man, I love this store and the lady who takes care of the shrimp helped me out a TON when I first started my shrimp tank. This is my #1 go to for shrimp! They also have some really cool freshwater goby's!
I have been to this store twice from out of state. Both a year apart. The same guy has been saying forever he is knew. I understand if you are knew then someone needs to be here training you. Typically a weekend is the busiest. There should be more than 1 employee working. Each transaction takes 7+ minutes. All I wanted was a bath!!! The store in Colorado Springs is 110% better and I will spend my money there.
Horrible customer service! Today was my first visit & it was my last. An older male employer & the supervisor need to be retained on customer service. I was excited to see some sale times. I was charged the incorrect price. The older male employee didn’t catch it. I got to my car & reviewed the receipt. Went back in, he was challenging me on the price & had to go talk to his supervisor several time. I literally waited 45 minutes ! The male supervisor came up front to ring several white customers, he did not even apologize to me or offer to take care of the refund even though the older male was struggling with the transaction. The supervisor knew was was going on & never apologized or tried to help me.
They have everything. Even exotic pets food and supplies. Went in to get ferret kibble because everywhere else was out and online orders are 2 weeks away. This place has 2 bathing stations you can use yourself. I would definitely recommend it.

Im a tad biased because I work here. But the environment is really great. We always do our best to get you the things your pet needs. There is a self serve dog wash, as well as a variety is animals to adopt! Please stop in, and stop local!!
With so few independently owned pet stores left in the area, I'm perfectly content to support a place like this over PetSmart or Petco and they have a decent selection, nice rewards coupons from time to time, and appear to take pretty good care of their animals from what I can tell. Would most certainly recommend.
Never go to another pet store again. The Lenexa branch of Pet Supplies Plus goes above and beyond to make sure you know what you are buying and how to properly use or take care of whatever you are buying. On our most recent trip, it was for fish to put in our new aquarium, we met with Nikki, who was so lovely to my daughter and walked her through how to feed her new fish, how to clean the tank and answered a zillion other questions. We also had help from Bill, who recommended we get a snail. So now we have a snail named Bill. I'm confident Pet Supplies Plus in Lenexa is the best pet store in the KC/OP area. 10/10 will go back and 10/10 customer service!
Super fast delivery. Competitive pricing. Was expecting it next day and it came same day. I will DEFINITELY be using their delivery service again. I was always greeted well when I went into the store and delivery service did not change that. You have a devoted customer now.
