Used the like this location. But is gone downhill. Was just in and the store is dirty. Countless dead fish. Dirty floors. Dirty aquariums, webs all over, reptiles living in filth. It's very disheartening.
I love this store! I shop here for all of my pets. The staff is extremely friendly and super helpful. Great prices, clean store, and a very welcoming atmosphere. They even took the time to attach a hand written note to my online order, carried it out to my car, and even put it in the back seat. Excellent work! Keep it up!
went to the Route 60 in Mundelein store today to look for a treat that would tempt a feral cat I'm trying to trap. The store associate was very helpful in explaining to me so that I could make a decision on a product that would work for an unknown cat. Took all of 15 minutes. A satisfactory experience.
I love how they added the dog wash! It’s really nice and convenient for whenever we need to go give our black lab a shower especially since at it’s really hard to give him a good wash. They also have a lot different options on dog food and anything you might need!
Pet Supplies Plus Mundelein is close to us and the employee are very nice and helpful. Shopping for our dog can be a bit of fun.
The staff was friendly. Everything was well stocked. The kids loved seeing the pair of ferrets they had there. All the animals they had for sale looked well cared for.
Edit: I visited the store yesterday and I’m so pleased with the improvement the store has made. The fish were still in containers but they were much larger than the standard ones. The fish looked like they were in good condition and clean water! My only additional comment- please note that Betta fish are tropical animals. They really should be in water around 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit. If the store is fully air conditioned the cups won’t provide them with the warm water they need. They should be kept in standard filtered and heated tanks like other tropical fish. This will also help spread awareness to future owners- these fish cannot be kept in small bowls/cups. Original review: Almost every single time I visit this location; 90% of their poor betta fish have swim bladder, fin rot, or parasites. I took in the betta pictured below from this store. He was floating on his side and had severe swim bladder disease. The second picture is him now, a week later. He is able to swim, he is finally eating, and exploring his hospital bowl. Unfortunately he seems to have a permanent curvature in his spine. All he needed was clean, warm, water. I am 99% sure this could have been prevented if it wasn’t for the horrifyingly poor care the store provided. The cups that these fish are kept in are FILTHY. How can you expect future pet owners to provide these animals with the appropriate care if this is the example you are giving? This is animal abuse. Please do better.
Always have a good time when going in here. Staff is very nice and welcoming. If they don't know the answer, they are happy to help find it.
This is my go to store for my dog and rag doll cat. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. From the food,treats,toys and all the supplies, they have a vast number of choices. And let’s not forget their sales!
A great locally owned shop. Needed something to calm a pet for a flight and they had a surprisingly nice selection. Were able to get something at a decent price.
