This is a wonderful place to get pet food and other items for animals! This is where I get my dog and rabbits food from. The staff are very helpful and most of them have a basic idea of animal care. This is also where I purchase my hamsters bedding from. IMPORTANT NOTE The only member of staff I had any troubles with was the owner I think was one of the male employees who was arguing with me about the nutritional value of hamster food. For context in the hamster care community it's a known fact that there is no seed mix that provides all of the nutrients needed and you always have to mix their seed mix with either another mix or fresh meats and veggies. He was adamant to tell me that the seed mix had all the nutritional value needed but I continued to try to explain to him why that was incorrect and that I would like to continue reading through the nutritional value to get the best one. The confrontation was calm and there was no yelling of any sort, I was just bothered by his attitude and arrogant sort of demeanor. Either way I've never encountered this man ever again and have always been blessed to have wonderful employees help me in the store and don't think it's fair to take a star away just for one faulty member of staff when the others are always wonderful. I will continue to purchase items from here and continue educating people on hamster care as it's normally seen as something businesses use to make money rather then care for their animals how they should.
I wasn't a fan of Pet Valu in the past--stores weren't impressive looking. Since I got a cat recently, I've had to go back and have been impressed with the overhaul to the overall look and organization of the stores, this one included. Prices are better than the big box store in some cases. The real difference comes from the staff: BigBox goes with the "expect high turnaround so hire inexperienced" while Pet Valu goes with the "hire experienced". The staff are always very nice and helpful when you have questions and can always point you in the right direction. They also seem to have a much better selection in cat food for those trying to achieve a specific diet for their cat.
Great customer service. We were looking for a particular product, but none was in store. The staff informed us that they just received a shipment and would look through the boxes to see if they'd be replenished. When they discovered it wasn't, they phoned their sister store and put one aside for us there!
Called and spoke to "the owner" this week He wasn't particularly helpful when I advised that the Natural Balance dog food purchased from his location was moldy. Decidedly better service received from the Natural Balance company. Definitely will be taking our business elsewhere.
Friendly staff and a good supply of pet foods and items make this Pet Valu worth a visit if you are in the Glen Abbey area or visiting the Town Centre. Over the past few years, this outlet has improved in both store layout and staff friendliness and as a result I tend to visit more frequently now than I did in the past.
I have been shopping in this store since i moved here 3 years ago,the lady with short hair is always been a great help and offering the best service.i bought cats leash 3 times and every time she helped to put it on and show me how to. I am very glad to shop here and will always do in the future.
Went in to the new Paulmacs Pets with our kids so they could each pick out a fish. Five fish choices later, a deadpan employee in sweats finally acknowledges us and informs us that no goldfish are for sale. No explanation. No apology. When we left our two youngest daughters were asking if they were ever going to get fish, and neither employee cared. Don't take your kids here: disappointment!
It's a great pet store, I've been shopping here for years. The staff are super friendly and I like there stuff. Gunna keep shopping at pet value!
Great for all pet needs! I get all my food and litter here for my cat. The staff is usually knowledgeable and very helpful if you have any questions.
Very good pet store, staff has always been helpful. Very good selection. Has everything I need for my cat. Would recommend.
