Always wanted a ferret when I was young. There illegal in nyc. So when my son wanted to get a hamster I suggested we get a ferret instead. Best decision ever, she truly fit in with our crazy lives & family. We love our baby girl Cali! Thanks Petco !
Only two stars because they’re nice people but otherwise stay away. Signed up for dog classes and told them exactly what my dog needs classes for, which was socialization with other dogs as he barks and tries to intimidate every dog he sees. Show up at the first class and they just take you to corner of the store and block it off with cardboard boxes. That should’ve been the first sign this wasn’t going to be good. Next thing I realize is that he’s the ONLY dog in the class, that was sign #2. Mind you they tried to sell me on private classes, I refused cause of price and stressing he needs to be in a class with other dogs to resolve his issues. The next two classes 45 minutes and 30 minutes, apparently they can go as long as they choose we spent 100% of the time repeating sit and handing him treats. I had to switch hours of classes for the 2nd one just so he was with another dog and it was still sit and hand treat repeatedly. I’m convinced the 30 min class ended because she had given him his 30 or so treats i had bright for the class already and she didn’t know what else to do. Nice people but shouldn’t be in the dog training business. I’m a nice person, I have zero reason opening up a dog training school. Luckily they gave me my refund for the 4 remaining classes but I threw away 60 or so dollars for 2 worthless classes.
Great spot. Great staff. Only issue is making an appointment is kind of pointless. Takes two hours or more sometimes for the entire process and this is just for a bath/nails. I would assume the point of having an appointment is that your pet will be started on at that time. Besides that I would recommend this location- just keep in mind your dog might be sitting in the back for an hour before they even start on them.
Went last month to get a few fish. Kid offered me a $10.69 rewards card. So I took it, bought my fish and went home. Today I see another charge on my debit card for $10.69 so I call the store. Not helpful. Answered the phone hello so faintly that I had to ask if I was calling Petco. Told me to call customer service so I did. After 2 hang ups I was outsourced. Woman told me it’s a monthly recurring charge. I said I was not told this because I would not have signed up as I only go there a few times a year and would not pay over $120 a year. She said I can stop the auto renew but will have to pay every month for the year. I said I wasn’t told it was every month and I want to cancel and I want a refund of my $10.69. She said she’ll send it to the review team and they’ll get back to me. Are they kidding me? What a rip off!!! I’m going to the store tomorrow to complain that I wasn’t told it was a monthly charge. And I know my call was outsourced and I will get nowhere. So I am going to have to call my bank and report this as fraud since I feel I was tricked. I’m guessing the kid that tricked me got some sort of commission for doing so. I will not go to this store again. I will drive a little out of the way and go to Petsmart.
While I generally like Petco, there are 2 things that bother me In general about them : 1 I don't like to see animals being sold as if they were objects . 2 It really bothers me to see that they are constantly keeping the lights ON at night ! They have live animals in there and they should respect them by dimming or switching off the lights when the shop is closed so that those poor animals inside can rest as well. I see a dissonance in their behavior...they say they love animals but they fail to guarantee the basic necessities...: restful environment at night, companionship during the day and space...some animals are kept alone in the cage for way too long and some fish are in bowls that are inhumanely small !!!! Please improve the level of compassion and sensitivity towards the animals you use to make money . Thank you.
Good store. Friendly staff. Only complaint is everything here is more expensive than other stores. For example dog food: $16@walmart when it's not sold out, $17@publix, $23@Petco same exact item including tax.
Chris has always done an excellent job in grooming my sheepdog- poodle. She looks great every time
Petco denied taking my dog in to be groomed because they claimed they were too busy but In reality they did not have the patience to handle my dog. I was so excited to get my dog groomed for the first time and drove 20 minutes on my day off to take him. It was very frustrating.
Wow!!! This is a very nice and well kept pet store. So my husband and I decided to come in to see what animals they had available for adoption. They did have so many beautiful kittens and friendly cats available, no puppies to see, except the ones that were getting groomed by the grooming area. Since we were there, we decided to look at other possible options. We were so surprised how the other animals that were there were kept so neat and clean. Fish tanks seemed spotless, baby turtle tank, bird and rodent section was spotless as well. The store itself was very organized and perfectly stocked in every section that we walked by. Although we did not walk out with a pet today, we will definitely be coming back. By the way, if you like to dress your pet for Halloween, they had a lot of cute costumes near the entrance.
Recently filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau on behalf of this establishment, they failed to check the products on shelf which then later made my dog very sick. It is not my responsibility to check for expired dates I should feel safe with the product I’m buying from this location if your employees are that lazy to check the inventory I think you should hire better ones.
