Parisian Florist and Urban Gardener
Owners and designers Claudia and Vincent opened Petit Jardin en Ville after their years abroad in France. Vincent, born in France grew up gardening beside his grandfather in the family orchard. Claudia who grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, always had a love for gardens, flowers and creativity.
For Claudia, moving to Paris was a life changing experience. The beauty of the city’s architecture combined with the French aesthetic sparked her creative side. She began studying under a well-known floral designer in Paris, perfecting her garden style floral techniques and eye for design. She enjoys creating untamed designs that highlight the natural beauty of the flowers for bespoke events. While in France, surrounded by the world’s most beautiful gardens, Les Tuilleries, Le Jardin du Luxembourg, and les Jardins de Versailles, that eye for a natural design in her florals carried over into her and her husband’s garden designs taking their inspiration from the simple beauty of European gardens.
Returning to the US, Vincent and Claudia settled in the Old City of Philadelphia. They return to France several times a year for inspiration. On the weekends they visit flea markets in Paris and the French Countryside collecting garden antiques and vintage items, which they incorporate into their designs and highlight in their Old City store.
