After having read most of the reviews, I thought it couldn't be that bad. Boy oh Boy was I wrong. I remember many of those potholes from when I stayed here 5 years ago. 22$ parking and food quality right out the window. The only person who was actually polite was the Parking attendant. The "lady" in the store up front told me I have to go to the fuel desk to pay for the parking. Guessing she didn't want to put her phone down at all. Showers supposedly aren't working either. How quaint. "Lady" at the fuel island was just as nice as a 4 tailed Murder Hornet. Had my platinum card IN MY HAND and yet she made me recite all my truck info for the parking chit. Last time ever staying here.
This place is all paid truck parking. Also, this place qualifies as a gravel lot thats never been maintained. If your an o/o and love your truck, then don't bring your truck here potholes everywhere and there's no spot that resembles anything close to being paved. If you like your truck and don't want your truck to get damaged from a pothole, then don't come here.
Stopped for a shower today and didn't think I'd be complaining about no cold water. That and the A/C wasn't working. I about passed out from the heat. Went to go eat hoping for a salad bar. Which I was reading reviews on and there is no more salad bar.
This was the worst truck stop I believe we have been to. First of all, with all the reserved spots they have, the parking lot should not be in that bad of shape. Second of all we had to pay for a spot to take a shower. Third, the showers were so small and didn't have any vents going to take out the heat. We ended up having sweated after the shower. Then we go fuel up and can't get a cash advance. You also have to go through 2 round abouts to get to the Petro and 3 to get out. All in all it was the worst experience in all the years we have been driving. If it would let me give a review without giving a star, then that's what we would have done.
Will not be stopping in at this petro again parking lot full of pot hole. They pick and choose who the want to pay for parking two truck right beside me didn't have to pay but the whole backside was reserved. Couldn't tell it was reserved no signs or markings on pavement/pot holes. Woman came around beating on my door 4 1/2 to 5 hours after I got there and telling me and the other drive that didn't have to pay we were in reserved parking. Bathroom and showers were hot like they had the air turn up so they were hot but rest of the store was nice and cool.22 dollars for a parking spot mind you I don't mind paying for it if I know it was a pay parking spot. I know I'm only one person but my truck and me needs fuel but never again from this place.
Terrible I don't mind paid parking but the parking lot itself is Terrible. I shouldn't have to dodge pot holes just to get out the truck stop when you guys are making millions. It wouldn't hurt you to shut it down and get this parking lot in order.
Well I see alot of complaints about potholes and they are not wrong this place is the worst but I also see alot of responses to the complaints saying "we will look into the problem " yet here we are they have not changed anything and still they charge $22 for over night parking and it's always full here 7 days a week I can only imagine who's pockets are getting lined with that revenue. Why Petro especially when you know the struggles we as drivers face every day and we drivers are what keep you in business yet you , just like everyone else takes advantage of us .... Shame on you
Dear Petro Travel Center Owner, Instead of posting a standard response and asking an already angry customer to go to another site to tell you AGAIN how much your store sucks, you instead, go and fix the problems. There's no AC in the showers or cold water. Your parking lot is a bomb field. You've got lot lizards running around the parking and coming into the store and I don't know how your security guard can do his job sitting inside the store. I get it, it's hot as hell outside but if you charge people to take showers in your facility in those conditions then your security guard can walk the parking lot. Overall one of the worst truck stops I've ever been in.
What can be said? Was running short on fuel so I requested my company open my card for use at Petro, while waiting the security guardette lol, came beating on mine and 2 other trucks to move, rudest person I’ve ever seen. She seemed angry to have to get out of her security car. From the looks it couldn’t have hurt but I digress. I then called my company and switched it over to the Pilot across the street. 587.00 later I was on my way, 2 other truckers did the same because of this “woman”. Piece of advice, your facility and lot is already run down and in need of cleaning and repair, you may want to retain as much business as possible. This lovely “ladies” security company has been called as well, the world needs less of these rental cops. As of further note, called in to speak with the fuel desk and expressed my concern, she said oh well and hung up. Exactly who you want as the face of the company. Loves and Pilot are far superior to these disasters or locations. Hammond is the worst I’ve seen in 10 years out here
I'm so saddened that this once great truck stop has fallen to third world status. There parking lot looks like the air force used it for bomb practice. Every time I try to get fuel there "system" is down and can't even sell you a stick of gum. Maybe in the future? So many good folks work there and there service is thrown away with bad management or poor support from corporate.
