Took our 9 month old dog for a bath and haircut, and to remove mats on the outside of his ear from scratching due to an ear infection. Liz, at the Sand City location, was very exoerienced and caring while removing it. She also gave him a really cute haircut. I was really impressed with her knowledge and will be booking with her again! Also picked up some good deals on dog treats while I was there.
The store itself is ok and you can find thing to satisfy basic pet needs here. I usually buy saltwater salt mix here with price match but fish department always is running out of goods. The dog food variety is decent. Giving 3 starts since the pet groomer saloon is poor. Last time I visited they kept my pup for over 5 hours before they could start working on him. The groomer didn't do anything I asked and my pup haircut was terrible. Issue had to be scalated to corporate and this way the saloon manager was able to give my pup fixing haircut free of charge. My poor pup starts shaking every time we walk by the saloon.
We went shopping there today and I noticed on my receipt that there was a $10 charitable donation on there. I called the store to ask about it and she said I must have clicked $10 on accident. I know I didn't because the card reader was so slow I had to press it multiple times for it to finally register that I clicked no. My only thought is that their system is so old that it takes forever to read the card and glitched and added the $10 charge. I don't think the girl at checkout did it, she seemed super sweet, and the way the system looked like it was struggling I believe it was a technical error. Giving one star because that should not have happened and now I have to go back to get it fixed.
We had to ask 2 different associates 3 times to help us get 1 aquatic snail, & waited over half an hour. No long lines. The cashier #764986 who helped us with our purchase tonight became visibly annoyed with us when we politely asked her for help twice, & when my mom couldn’t remember an old phone number associated with her PetSmart card. She made us feel like a nuisance & unwelcome. We just wanted a snail?
0/5 if there was an option. This instance happened awhile ago, but finally getting to putting a review. Booked a grooming appointment online for let’s say 10:30 AM. We show up on time….they didn’t even groom her at all. So she was sitting in the back with very high anxiety due to being locked up with all the other dogs in cages. They couldn’t get her to “come out”. Then a lady who wasn’t the one who was supposed to groom our dog, that girl couldn’t even look us in the face then proceeds to tell us that we should have chosen the other option online so they could have gotten to groom her sooner and wouldn’t have to put her in their back cages….YOU MEAN TO TELL ME SHE WASN’T going to get groomed at her appointment time? Find another place that actually cares about your fur babies!
The employees that are available were wonderful. The sad fact is this store doesn't have enough employees. I counted at least 4 registers and only one was operating. With a line that reaches down a considerable way. When in the store I had to wait till an employee from the cashier to leave there post to come help me. Not a good thing. The reason I'll go back is bc of how helpful she ended up being.
This location is usually very clean and well stocked. The staff is clearly made up of animal lovers. A great spot overall for your animal's needs!
Good prices on bird seed and great variety of cat food and treats. The wall of dead and near death fish is a horror show, do better
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a grooming appointment at 4:30 today. I live one hour and 10 minutes away. At 12:30 I received a call stating that there were a bunch of cancellations today, they were closing the salon early and I would need to be there by 2:30 at the latest to keep the appointment. I told them the earliest I could get there would be 3 - 3:30. They said this would be too late and they would close the salon before I could arrived. I argued with the manager for several minutes and they refused to do anything to accommodate me. Avoid at all costs. No commitment to their customers or pet's health.
The store is always clean, fully stocked. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
