Phenix Rods & Accessories

About

Custom Quality Rods

Description

Seeking to expand our early 1977 fishing roots, Phenix began a journey to build the brand that our devoted following had grown to love and take our custom rods to the next level.

In 2006 Phenix expanded current product lines with a much wider range of rod offerings that make use of premium design and components while still preserving our brand’s existing custom quality look and feel. Since then, we have added an increase in application specific models as well as a boost in sensitivity and a decrease in overall rod weight.

Products

Custom built saltwater, freshwater, trout & fly rods, and apparel.

Very bad store. Very Bad! Smells like fish in there. My pole is smaller than all the other rods and wont catch fish. I am 100 percent Irish. I have better quality poles that I bought in Ireland. I will not return. EVER!
I Bought a TRL-903-ML last week through their official website and received a defective rod. The packaging nice and secure, and it’s hard to believe such an accident would happen to a well-packaged rod that went through 2-hour-drive. Therefore, it’s likely that the rod is intrinsically defective when they sent it out. The customer service Michael Suggs suggested me return the rod with defects and give me a new one, which sounds reasonable in the first place. However, he didn’t mention that this process would take 30 days according to the website and even told me maybe wrong information that the no-hassle replacement requires sending back the old rod while paying for extra money. He eventually ghosted me when I requested talking to their senior member on the issue. Anyways, to purchase a defective product worthy of $200 through their official website and not able to have the warranty is an awful experience. Updates: The warranty teams are much more professional. They shipped the replacement immediately and send me a shirt and a hat. I would contact their warranty team only if there’s anything happening with the rod in the future.
Fished these rods since the '80's, though some of the reel seats aren't holding up, but the guides snd blanks are perfect. We use them for Bar Rayé in the Gaspésie region in Quebec. Be sure to always have a good roll of Electricians tape handy to attach the reels if your rods reel seats fail like some of ours have. DrFly
Purchased one of their M1 Inshore rods and the reel seat snapped after light fishing. The dealers won't handle warranty and they make you drive to Bellflower. The website claims lifetime warranty but they clearly are not actually supporting this. Will never buy another rod from them. After talking to a few buddies, it sounds like they had a similar experience. I'd advise steering clear of this brand.
Great customer service... I stopped by and had a warranty exchange and the process easy the customer service rep named Riley was very helpful he took my rods and dissappeared around the corner to show the rod builders... I do wish they had a lobby I stood there in the middle of a hallway or somewhere to sit as I stood there and other workers kept coming out of the back looking at me and asking why I'm there? ... I had to explain myself to 3 other people who didn't even help me and they went back to whatever they were doing... lastly a gentleman named Matt came out and was very helpful answering my questions about rod differences and material used to make certain rods.. good experience overall this company backs the quality of their rods and they make it right with the customer for any manufacturer defect ...I will continue to enjoy the experience fishing with these amazing rods and will continue to support and recommend Phenix rods to all of my anglers... thank you for the customer service today!
Hands down the best warranty service I've came across to date. User error on my end, damaged rod. Went in for warranty with no questions asked/ no hastle. Will continue purchasing from this company.
Absolute worst customer service. First time buying a rod from Phenix which was their Elixir series rod, it broke and I tried contacting them no response. Never felt so ripped of my money and I have then switched to Daiwa and Megabass. I actually broke my P5 Windbuster and I got a response from Megabass within 3 hours. I will be staying away from Phenix Rods and I hope you do the same as of right now.
I purchased a new Phenix Feather for frogging and 3rd trip out it snaps on a hook set about 12” from the reel. I reached out to them because it’s clearly a bad rod after barely getting used and it broke, I didn’t want to spend 75 bucks for a warranty claim when it’s a bad rod. I figured maybe it was a bad rod so I ordered the same rod because I needed one for a tournament. Well Saturday I did the same thing throwing a swim jig with a different rod, the rod broke about 12” above the reel. Love the feeling of these rods but I can’t afford to buy/make warranty claims on rods after only a few uses. If these broke because it was my fault I would do the warranty claim immediately but both of these were bad rods from the manufacturer. Maybe the feather is a bad series of rods but I would not recommend these rods at all. I have been more then reasonable with their customer service but haven’t been treated well which is unfortunate because I wanted to purchase Phenix rods for all my needs.
Purchased an X10 was able to use it maybe 5 times due to the whole Covid situation, rod broke on a hook set probably around 18" - 24" from the reel the break itself looked strange and was a straight clean break. Needless to say they wouldn't replace it without me throwing more money at it and never provided any reason to why they wouldn't replace it, zero confidence in this product!
Absolutely worst experience I have ever been through in trying to have a warranty serviced. Talked to three different people at Phenix and they said three different things. They then directed me to two different retail businesses and said to go through them instead of dealing with Phenix directly. Each of those retail businesses then directed me back to Phenix to handle the broken rod which was under warranty. Two days and a lot of time wasted. Stick with competitor’s products, or be prepared to be very frustrated when one of their rods breaks on a fish! Part 2: found a gal Scarlet who took care of business with a positive attitude! Hire more folks like her!
