Phi Theta Kappa is an international Honors Society for two-year junior colleges. It was established in 1918, and has since offered students opportunities for engaging in scholarly activities, earning academic scholarships, providing service to the community, developing and practicing leadership skills, and enjoying fellowship with other scholars.
Beta Eta Psi is the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Sacramento City College. It was established in December 7, 1998. Phi Theta Kappans of Beta Eta Psi are dedicated scholars who also engage in leadership, service, and fellowship at Sacramento City College and the surrounding community.
Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold:
1) Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and;
2) Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
