I had the opportunity of visiting the old & new Family Court locations in Center City Philadelphia. Both locations are close to the museums, local eateries & mass transportation. God Bless Shalom

When will something actually change here? Make sure you are ready to tolerate unnecessarily negative attitudes, deliberately vague instructions, and absolutely no usable guidance or assistance from 9 out of 10 individuals you could speak to. Good luck everyone, this place will try your patience with every second that passes.

Other Parent was court ordered to pay $500 a month for 3 kids. He never paid and enforcement didn't do anything despite him having $30,000+ in the bank. His arrears are currently at $25,000 and he passed away a week ago. Now we're told my kids will get none of the money he has in his account because he doesn't have an Estate established and they will close out his case. This Court is a pointless, redundant, waste of tax payers money.

Idk what you need, but be prepared to wait a really long time to get it. They are overwhelmed and understaffed. Although it often appears to be several people behind the desk doing absolutely nothing. Certainly not moving the line along. Bring an abundance of patience and maybe a good book, and you will be fine.

Filed for a protection order against my ex husband for 10+ years of abuse. The man had choked me and threatened to shoot me just days before. A women judge here told me she didnt believe my account of what happened ex was a firefighter and asked me if it was so bad why didn’t I leave sooner. Being severely abused at the time that statement sent me into a full blown panic attack in the courtroom. The judge threatened to hold me in contempt if I couldn’t compose myself. Being revictimized by that judge that day did just as much harm to me as the years of abuse. 7 years later and I still suffer from ptsd symptoms, which this judge contributed to significantly. BELIEVE ABUSE VICTIMS!

I got railroaded and extorted by family court to MY FACE. the Philadelphia Justice and Family Court system owes me answers about the abuse of my child NOW. After waiting for a year , came my time to present my custody case, which i was clearly going to win. They allowed for my exes attorney to call out of court with " food poisoning ON THE DAY WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT. the next time we were supposed to go to court, they rescheduled and didn't even give me a reason this time. This is not a court system , it is an enterprise that profits off of the misery of working class families

Place is an absolute joke. Been trying for 4 years to get some support and all they do is reschedule enforcement hearings. Nothing happens for not showing up. They eventually just stop scheduling it altogether. Meanwhile they go hard on the fathers that are actually taking care of their kids. Makes no sense

After going through the process online, and getting an error with no explanation of how to fix it, I have been waiting on the phone for awhile. In addition I got disconnected twice from the representative once I reached her, and now she is not calling me back. Would love if there was shorter waiting times and if the website explained what to do with an error that comes up. It shouldn’t be this inconvenient and time consuming to pay a ticket.

Get in early, like 7:45 am and they start taking people at 8. That makes all the difference! Pretty quick and everyone was helpful and patient.

Clean and efficient to move through. The payment desk doesn't always stick around right to closing time, but can't blame them for that.
