New England's Center for Photography:
Founded in 1976, the Photographic Resource Center (PRC) at Boston University is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Cited by the Boston Globe as "one-stop shopping for the photo buff," the PRC provides its members and the general public with thought-provoking exhibitions; distinctive education programs; wide-ranging resources; and unique special events.
EXHIBITIONS: Emphasizing new ideas and trends in contemporary photography, the PRC’s gallery hosts several exhibitions each year. Ranging from provocative theme-based and participatory exhibitions to the highly-anticipated juried and student exhibitions, the PRC’s exhibition programs will keep you coming back for more.
EDUCATION: Led by regional and national photography luminaries, regular PRC education programs include work sharing "Nights at the PRC," lectures and book-signings, portfolio reviews, as well as tours for school and community groups. Featured program leaders have included Roger Ballen, Tina Barney, Bruce Davidson, Andres Serrano, Larry Fink, Duane Michals, and William Wegman.
RESOURCES: The PRC’s resources are designed to keep its community members apprised of photographic information, including regional exhibitions, programs, happenings, and calls for entry. Resource highlights include a comprehensive website, an e-newsletter, a 5,000 volume library (currently in storage after our move), and our social media accounts.
