On Monday's is my favorite, liver and onions. Plus all the employees are very friendly. It's always clean and comfortable. My husband and I try to go at least once a week. If you want a good balanced meal, with plenty of choices, than this is the place to go.
Food was good. This place needs a RE Due bad. Wallpaper falling off the walls. The booth seats are wore out. Having to pay at the food line makes your food cold. This is not new Info, this place needed a RE due years ago. Are they planning on closing this location?
A bit on the fence here...Had a real debauchery here yesterday. The server gave us the wrong food. The cashier was loud, rude and incapable of fundemental problem solving skills. I asked for the manager who surfaced moments later and did try to resolve our problems by bringing other food... But the food quality was all sub par. Leading to more food replacements.... The manager did Comp our meal but another patron passed by our table and said they would not return. Please Picadilly up your game and don't give another reason for closing!
The prices was too high. 2 slices roast beef and 1 scoop of green beans and 1 scoop of cabbage and bread roll. Which I tried to switch bread roll for more green beans cause I don’t eat bread. They wouldn’t do it. For 2 ppl it was 24 dollars and some change, and we didn’t get a drink. The small tea is 2.39 wow. The green beans were way too salty. If you don’t watch what you eat then this is the place for you. The manager was not friendly but the staff were, so I gave it 2 stars other wise I will not be back.
Tried to use waiter at 7:35 pm on a Thursday night 02/13/2020 and the app kept telling me the item would be available on 02/14/2020 at 11:00am. So I called and spoke to the manager to explain the problem and he said it works fine, that they just had a waiter order at 7pm. I explained to him it wasn’t correct and he just didn’t get it and obviously didn’t care. He asked me what I ordered and I told him and he said “We can prepare it for you and you can come pick it up!” Lol. I just left it right there. I will be calling upper management tomorrow, ONLY because I do like Piccadilly and I wish to continue to have that option. This guy is a joke.
The reason I did not give it 1 star is because you could eat it even if it was not the best. Breakfast here was not what we expect from Piccadilly. It would be so much better if they used their serving line to serve the breakfast because the warming dishes did not keep the food hot just warm. The coffee was also just warm. This is a serve your self meal which means they do not even fix or refill your drinks. After all of this the meal for my wife and I was $19.54. I was so looking forward to this being a great meal, but sorry, next time I will have to pass.
Price is a bit more than comparable restaurants. Food choices are changing from the past. Growing up I always got baked ham and that is no longer an option. I still eat there mainly out of habit as my grandma brought me to Picadilly often during my childhood. I hate to see so many locations closing. I now have to drive 65 miles to the nearest location.
Food might be great but the managers at this Piccadilly’s treat their employees like GARBAGE. It’s sad hearing your good friend tell you about how they wouldn’t let them leave their first day because instead of training them they had them doing all the dishes, cleaning and other dirty work until after 10:30pm when every other employee had left. Hope the managers at this one read this because someone should let them know they’ll be looking for another job once the work bureau discovers the way they abuse and mistreat their employees. I love Piccadilly’s but I’ll never be giving my business to the abusive people managing this one. Leaving personal voicemails to employees, cursing them out simply for not answering the phone on their day off, isn’t something a proper manager should be doing.
Good food and service. Always have a lot of same dishes but does vary some each day. Very attentive servers to get what you need once seated with your tray.
I loved all our Piccadilly locations in Houston until they shut down. We went to the one in Biloxi once while visiting just to find it was shut down the next time we visited. So, we stopped at this one in Covington and received no smiling faces except maybe the waitress who seemed happy to help. But, I think she was sick because she kept coughing everywhere without covering her mouth. There was no fried fish filet so I settled for the blackened pork chop that was breaded for some reason. It didn't taste fresh. I mean the breading was fresh but the chop wasn't. It was maybe a week old. Seemed like it was on that fine line of spoiling but y'all thought it could still be served to the public. Anyways, it wasn't great. The best items were your sweet tea, green beans and jalapeño cornbread. It's sad to see this great eatery from my past going down like all the others. Maybe poor decisions up top. If I don't find a decent store in the future, this may be my last visit to an old favorite of ours.
