A teaching studio where 7 years old to adults can learn how to paint or draw, or hone their skills further under the direction of a professional artist.
Painting and drawing classes for 7 year olds to adult.
Piece of My Art Studio in the Bismarck Place in Westfield has been a go to teaching studio since 2004 for kids, teens, and adults 7 years old and older. The primary focus of the studio’s concentration is developing drawing and painting skills in the students who attend classes. There are those who have been attending for many years, some who attend at the same time every year, and some who come and go. At Piece of My Art, the approach is to let the student decide what direction they’d like to go in and what project they’d like to work on. Some have their own ideas, while others prefer to use examples provided by the studio. Students of all skill levels work on their pieces in each class. As students advance, they’re encouraged to stay challenged and continue to hone their skills. One way the studio challenges students is through their participation in The Memory Project. This requires students who share in this fulfilling activity to have a pretty strong command of portraiture, in order to create images of underprivileged children from around the globe. The studio is always cultivating portrait skills in any student, as young as 7, who show an interest or who have an untapped skill they might not yet be aware of. While The Memory Project is an ongoing program at Piece of My Art, individual undertakings are also paramount. From creating that perfect painting for the bathroom, to painting or drawing a close family member, to just experimenting with color or materials, Piece of My Art Studio is a great place to do just that!
