Ever since I was a child, I was inclined to express myself through creative artworks. I started out doodling whimsical drawings that held special meaning to me. However, it wasn't long before I realized that drawing was not something that I had the skills to perfect. As I grew into an adult, I consistently sought different ways to channel my creative energy.
I had always been enchanted by the beauty of stained glass, whether as an expansive stained glass window in someone's home or in the form of a small sun catcher beautifully reflecting the sunlight in a sun-kissed window. To me, there is just something ethereal about stained glass especially when it is transformed by the magical ambiance of light.
One of my first experiences crafting with glass was more than 25 years ago. Certain aspects of my life had become intense, I actively looked for ways to busy my mind while creating something with my own two hands. I signed up for a beginner's stained glass course and was mesmerized from the onset. There is an undeniable sense of peace that comes from holding a piece of cool glass in the palm of your hand when only minutes prior it was as hot as molten lava. Since my first foray into glass making, I have honed my skills as an artisan and embraced a wide-range of glass mediums. I take great pleasure in creating glass artworks using techniques such as flame-working, mosaics, stained glass and fusing.
