Twenty-five years. Hundreds of aquariums. Thousands of happy fishes.
We are Tanya and Cristina Santiestevan, a mother-and-daughter aquarium-maintaining team with more than 25 years' experience caring for fresh and marine aquariums in professional offices, reception areas, and private homes in the Warrenton area.
It all began in 1990, when Tanya opened The Warrenton Pet Shop in the Giant Food shopping center. Then, in 1992, Tanya began offering aquarium maintenance services in response to customer requests. Twenty-five years later, we are still caring for some of those original clients' aquariums.
Meanwhile, Cristina was in elementary school and worked as a part-time employee in her mom's shop. She was just 12 years old when she joined the family business. Cristina continued to work alongside Tanya through her high school and college years.
Then, in 2004, Tanya decided she was ready for something new. She sold The Warrenton Pet Shop, and directed her energies full time to growing her aquarium services business, which she started calling Catfish Logic. Meanwhile, Cristina devoted herself to a graduate school degree in biology, and a career that began — fittingly enough — at the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts.
Now, in 2017, we are excited to announce another big change. Catfish Logic has taken a new name — Piedmont Aquariums — and Cristina is again working alongside her mother, this time as a partner in the business. Together, we continue to serve the Warrenton area’s aquarium needs.
