Pike County Office of Emergency Management (OEM)
The mission of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is to lead Pike County to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from disasters of all types. The goal is to reduce any loss of life and property; minimize any suffering and reduce the disruption that is caused by disasters; prepare the county to address the consequences of terrorism and to serve as the portal for emergency management information and expertise.
In times of an emergency or disasters that affect multiple municipalities within the county, the Office of Emergency Management coordinates the response of various county agencies and departments, ensuring that the most appropriate resources are dispatched to the impacted areas. We work with local governments, fire departments, EMS groups, law enforcement, volunteer organizations and the private sector across Pike County to develop disaster preparedness plans and to assist with providing training and exercise activities.
