Great family gathering place, menu accommodates everyone palettes I believe it had a few vegan items as well. They could upgrade the cups, the one I received was so old from being dishwasher so much looked awful the rim was distressed made the cup look dirty. So I just asked for a to go cup instead. But over all Great!Food: 5/5
Cool atmosphere and the service was great . Right next to the movie theater as well! Very nostalgic. Parking: Parking lot on the side and rear of the building. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room for high chairs and a kid friendly menu as well!
This is a great dining experience. The design and decorations are awesome. It's so original. You will love the festive atmosphere. The food is good and the staff is friendly. It's a must see.Food: 4/5
Memory killer. Used to have an abundance of choices on a ten page menu. Now it's more of an overpriced crab house. First, we seated ourselves, which was ok. Then 10 minutes before someone even greeted us. Another 5 minutes to get us menus and drinks. With it being Good Friday, I asked for crabcakes. Waitress then informed us that on top of the $36.99, there was a $5.00 seafood surcharge. So it was cheaper for crabs. 6 small crabs, bowl of soup, and hush puppies around $35.00. Crab soup was good but really had to work for the crab meat and no one in sight to get a knife.
Sam the bartender YOU are great. The hush puppies were nice and crispy.Food: 5/5
Our first time visiting here for family dinner. The 6-year-old thought the life size mannequins were "creepy" there's even one near the restrooms...yikes!. They have an extensive menu which includes breakfast served all day. Service was excellent and the portions were large. 3 of us needed to-go boxes! I also brought home a slice of turtle cheesecake...delish! We'll be back...
Until tonight - Sept 27 - my experience at The Pikes had been good to very good overall. The steamed crabs had always been full, tasty, and the expected size. This time it was a bust except for the taste. The tray of crabs was NOT the Jumbo size we pre-ordered - they were mostly medium with a few large mixed in and barely warm leftover maybe?. It turns out that a table across the room next to the window got our order and THE STAFF ADMITTEDLY TRIED TO PASS OFF THE "JANKY" CRABS THE OTHER TABLE HAD ORDERED AS THE JUMBOS WE HAD ORDERED. It was almost torture watching the other patrons eat our order of steamed crabs, all of which appeared to be almost double the size of ours. Had we not said anything and not known any better about the sizing of crabs, they would have been content with overcharging and short-changing us. When challenged, they tried to convince us that they served us XL - NOT! They thought they were 'doing something' by adding 4-supposedly large crabs to the order actually mediums and reducing the bill by $10. Nothing could have made up for the "trickeration" they were trying to pull after switching our order with another table - WHERE THEY DO THAT AT? The mistake we made was eating the first one - We should have just walked out without touching them. But we were fiending for some steamed crabs. I don't know if the owner is in on the scam or if the "manager" might just be pocketing the money away from the owner, but this is not a way to run a reputable business!! To address the restaurant's response ... YOU WANNA TALK 'LOW ROAD' ... Your position here will never be right - there was an opportunity to address this situation by bringing up the mistake on your own, without prompting from us. WE had to bring up the wrong size 20+ minutes into the meal, after we could get to the waitress, otherwise there would have been no attempt at an accommodation & there would have been no admission about the mishap ... Somehow, the staff thought we wouldn't know any better. It's unfortunate, but I believe Scam and Trickeration might be charitable descriptors in this case. And, like I said, the taste was fine - the saving grace.
My family loves this theater. The atmosphere is family friendly with a thirty and older vibe. Very spacious interior with great movie selections. We absolutely love the food and how it's brought out yo you. Parking: The parking is shared with the restaurant, so parking has never been an issue for us. Kid-friendliness: For the little mermaid premiere they had a really cool display with themed items throughout. My daughters loved taking pictures there.
Everything was good until we large party of 10 was paying. We had individual checks so each one of us was giving our own tips. The waitress got 1 person's tip. $25 and went back and told her manager that on a $400 bill, we only gave $25 and we was her largest table. The manager then came out and questioned the tip..which 1st off, everyone wasn't even finished paying and tipping so she was presumptuous as to how much the tip was going to be which she end up getting over $100 tip because we all paid individually and the manager had the nerve to even question our tip since we can give what we want..won't go there again..poor management and the manager looked like some women off the street..I thought she was a customer..
