The Pilates Method (originally called Contrology) is a form of exercise comprised of a series of precise, controlled movements that fully engage the body and mind. Pilates is performed on the apparatus designed by Joe Pilates to support the body and can tapered to the each individual and their needs. Pilates is a workout that will keep your body functioning and enable you to do what you love to do longer. It has been the workout of choice for dancers, gymnasts, professional athletes and celebrities.

About Zareh
Zareh Markarian is a classical Pilates teacher who offers privates, duos and group classes all over Los Angeles. In addition to Pilates, he teaches ballet and other styles of dance at a local dance studio.

Zareh has been a professional dancer for many years. One day during rehearsal, he had sustained an ACL knee injury. During the rehabilitation, he was exposed to Pilates and saw a quick and successful recovery. By the end of the physical therapy, he was stronger then before and more aware of his body. He went back to dancing while continuing his regular Pilates classes and decided to go through the Balanced Body teacher training program.
