Pillar Park's objective is to transform the area beneath the many bridges though out Johnstown in to a public space that welcomes art.
The Pillar Park Project
Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, AmeriCorps and the Pennsylvania department of Transportation started the Pillar Park project in 2013 with the objective of transforming the area beneath the many bridges though out our Community. Creating sheltered outdoor community spaces designated with positive imagery sending the message that creativity is welcome in Johnstown.
Since its inception we have exhibited murals by artists below Route 56 in the Kernville section of Johnstown Thirty–six concrete pillars line the streets between Brotz Place and Menoher Boulevard.
The mission of the BOTTLE WORKS is to provide opportunities for artists and audiences to promote and celebrate the Arts through exhibits, education, and participation.
