I am disappointed, had a contract for over a year, at the beginning the pool service was awesome, for about 3 months ago the pool service decreased its quality. I have a brand new salt water pool, and Pinch a Penny company was the  first pool service that I used.   the pool guy was adding a lot of chlorine in the pool,  I asked the pool guy how was the salt levels and he said “I don’t know “, and I told the pool guy “this is a salt water pool and he said “I did not know it is a salt water pool”. Called the owner of store from my cell phone right away and the pool guy said to the owner “I did not know this is a salt water pool, and  it does not show on my phone”  the owner said ok, I will fix it. … , so I called Juan Alvira owner of the pool service, and  told him about my concerns and requested it to be fixed. My concern was: there is a water mark all over the pool tile and lots of white spots on the tile , the pool tile was not being  scrubbed I have a camera in my backyard Today about 3 months later, the same water mark  and the white spots are still there. I texted Juan Alvira and complained second time ,  and per Juan Alvira “I am dropping the pool services since I am not meeting the expectations “, and told him, I never had any problems paying $120 per month for pool services, but you are breaking the contract for not providing me the services that was in the contract when I signed over a year ago. And now I have the ring mark and the white spots all around my pool. It does jot make any sense to me, lazy, lazy job! I am not sure what happened to his pool service or why he is not honoring the contract that I had with him for scrubbing the tiles. Very disappointed! I will not use the pool services anymore, and please check you pools and make sure it has been scrubbed, or your pool will end up like mine. See pictures below.

I didn’t know that bait and switch was a thing in the pool and spa business. This is the second time I’ve been told over the phone that this location had a large ticket item and when I come into the store to pick it up, they try to upsell you saying that they don’t have that particular product.  Considering that I was going to pay a premium by walking into the store and purchasing a new salt $1600 system.  UPDATE: APRIL 11, company responded...here's the deal why would I drive 30 minutes without verifying that you had the item on a holiday weekend nonetheless.  Gave you guys an opportunity to make it right in the shop instead you lied.  never again

This store has extremely knowledgeable and helpful people. I’ve had some issues with a new pool, and they’ve given me great advice and are so polite

I had been using this company for a long time for the maintenance of my pool by myself, so every 15 days I bought materials and supplies for this until one day I did not agree that he would not sell me the chlorine in a container on who had a little liquio, with which I agreed, but with what I did not, he did not want to return the container and that it was illegal, to which I replied, you return my container of my property, finally I left and did not I went back for a long time, until yesterday I needed chlorine and it happened that I was having breakfast at i Hop and I took advantage of the fact that it was next door and I bought chlorine on this site, which was my surprise that this man sold me a chlorine that is water, the color of water , smell of water and don’t work’s like cloro…..with this I want to publicly denounce what is happening on this site.n

During a regular cleaning their tech left a seal loose so water was leaking from it. I contacted the owner who send the tech back to adjust & tighten the seal. A month later my account was charged 150.00 for a "repair" for coming to tighten the seal they left loose in the first place.  Also, i was charged for 4 Jandy filters but pinch a penny tech installed filters of a less expensive brand for double the price of the jandy filters.  I contacted another pool company to check the pool chemistry & they showed me that my pool is way out of balance. I paid pinch a penny over 1,000.00 over the course of 4 months & my pool has white spots all over its dark surface, due to the PH unbalanced.  Pinch a penny bills in advance so when i asked to stop the service & refund me for the service dates that we already paid, the owner juan, said "no"  Terrible company, and Terrible service

I gave this one star because I had to...not because that store employee deserved even that one star. We are new to the area and new to pools. The first experience we had with a Pinch a Penny was great.. the owner in Hollywood was very helpful. We happened to be out and about so we  went to the store on Federal Hwy in Ft Lauderdale and our experience couldn't have been more different. We took a sample of our pool water in because we had an overnight algae bloom and didn't know what to do about it. The store had one other customer so they were not busy. Tommy was the employee who we'd like to say helped us, but he was curt, rude and not helpful at all. We asked him to explain some of the questions he was asking about the sample and he actually told us the questionnaire was not a fill in the blank, we had to choose an answer. We did buy a bag of salt there because they'd done the water test for us, but our inclination was not to. We won't be back, nor would we ever recommend that store. We went to our local Leslie's and will stick to going there from now on.  UPDATE to this review. I just got off the phone with the owner of this store. He was very concerned with my issues and apologized for the service. I appreciate very much his validating my concerns.

Excellent, high quality service. The in home Pool Service was a great choice. Rich is awesome. Professional service, he makes sure my pool chemicals are all balanced and pool look fantastic ! Everyone at this  Fort Lauderdale location is professional and friendly and extremely helpful ! Very happy with Pinch A Penny. They replaced a pool pump almost a year ago and it’s still working great. The repair guy was friendly and professional! I am definitely sticking with Punch a Penny ! Thank you and keep up the great work !!!

John has the most AMAZING customer service, it is a pleasure going there and dealing with him. He is beyond knowledgeable and makes the pool process so simple. In the beginning I had no clue what I was doing and with his help I am now a pro. He has a lot of patience and knows what to do. He is the reason I keep going back to pinch a penny, especially this store. Great job John!!!!!!!!

Excellent customer service.  I went in on a Sunday with an emergency issue and the guys there went out of their way to help me find the right parts for an air release valve and a pressure gauge.  Not only that but they also showed me how to install the parts.  It’s rare that I find such professionalism these days.  It was very refreshing.   5 star service, A+++.   I will only shop here for pool supplies from now on even though it’s out of my way.  Very impressed with the two pros that helped me.

The store used to have ONE knowledgeable and friendly employee, Tommy.  The new owner clearly  isn’t equipped to run a pool store with his level of education regarding pools and their maintenance. We will find a store that can provide knowledgeable assistance.  If anyone knows where Tommy is working, chime in. He’s been such a help, and we have/will miss him greatly!!
