This place was very busy on a Wednesday at 6:00 pm and remained busy the whole time we were there. Wonderful service from Sarah. She was very attentive and checked on us often. The decor is a little dated but restaurant was clean. Good value for the cost. There are basically 3 vegetarian options: a salad, pasta with vegetables and a Beyond Meat Burger. We ordered the last 2. The Beyond Meat burger was very good. The pasta was good but a little bland. The place was HOPPING! We were happy to get a table. Our meals were good, although my husband's meat was overcooked. Our waitress was charming but run off her feet. The hotel desk clerk recommended the Pine Grill. We are glad she did.Food: 4/5
Hands down the best chicken shwarma ever! The warm spices, the fresh herbs. the perfect char on the chicken! The only thing that would have made it better would have been a warm pita, but it was a definite winner. The fish and chips was excellent. The fish was huge. The chips were actually homemade potato chips. Crispy, crunchy deliciousness. Prices were very reasonable. The owner came by. He noticed a picture hanging on the wall just across from us was a tiny bit out of level and fixed it. That attention to detail is what makes this place a success. When you leave, go to the back parking lot for an unobstructed view of the Jenny Globe. It's cool. I only wish we had checked into our hotel before dinner. They have 10% off cards for Pine Grill at the front desk. But even at full price it was very well worth it. If you're in Somerset this is the place to go.
Nice, quiet old timey restaurant in Somerset PA. Big menu, a lot of specials, daily soup. Good service and friendly staff. It can get busy on weekend dinners. Unfortunately they are no longer open for breakfast Food: 4/5
Nice place with very good service. My meal ribeye deckle was excellent except for two things. The steak was a bit too salty, and I believe blue cheese dressing should have at least some blue cheese crumbles in it without having to specifically order them. Update Sept 9, 2023. Ribeye A++, Saffron Risotto w Shrimp & Fennell Salad A++ the place was pretty packed and loud, and the kitchen was backed up, so it took a while, but otherwise very good. Suggestion: look for off-peak times.
Great food at amazing prices and the nicest staff! Felt like home cooking but better! Good specials with a good amount of choices. The kids meal has some good choices for under $7. Lots of parking and lots of tables inside so even when its busy you'll be able to sit. My only issue was with the chocolate cake, it was kinda hard and tasted like a box cake with frosting. Would go back here again! Kid-friendliness: With windows looking out to the street kids can watch the cars. Parking: Lots of space behind and on the neighboring lots. Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to get in and out as there are no steps and the ramp is easy to get up.
I ordered the salmon special. I saw it was salmon and Puff pastry. When it came it wasn't what I expected. The waitress was so nice and took it off the bill and let me choose something else. I got the salmon filet with their dill sauce. It was so excellent. My husband got the meatloaf and couldn't eat it all. Their ranch dressing is also very good. Better than regular ranch.
We stopped here on the way home from Johnstown one Sunday evening. I ordered the BLT with sauteed mushrooms as my side and I added a caesar salad. My wife liked her pimiento cheese burger and loved the candied bacon that came with it. My daughter got a BLT like with me fries. The food took a little bit and while the restaurant wasn't packed, I think our food came out in a reasonable time frame. The staff was friendly and attentive and the vibe was very relaxed. My BLT was perfect and my mushrooms were good. I would've added more seasoning personally but I still enjoyed them. My salad was good and the dressing was delicious. It even included black olives which I wasn't expecting but I liked those too. We had the skillet cookie for dessert and it was too good for words. Almost. Three huge scoops of vanilla ice cream over a warm, soft, but crispy chocolate chip cookie. I would recommend Pine Grill just for the cookie. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for future visits!
Stopped in this town on a Friday. Once we pulled in we realized the parking was full and we were concerned of how much waiting time because we didn’t call ahead. To our pleasant surprise it wasn’t much of a wait. Within minutes we were at the table. Unfortunately we were seated next to the collection of dishes and it was extrema loud. I understand staff was busy and they were tossing dishes as fast as they could. It took a while for som to come to the table so when we address our noise situation the waitress was super friendly and moved us immediately. Our server Bailey was amazing. She was fast and very knowledgeable. Food was delicious!! Definitely recommend this place and will be sure to stop by again!
This place is the best! Was here skiing at seven springs and my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat. We stumbled into this place and we're not expecting much at first. We were however, very wrong. The waitstaff and food were so good, that we ate here both nights we were staying in town. My boyfriend got the seafood scampi and the first night I got the Tuesday night special steak, and the next the vegetarian pasta with chicken. Both entrees were delicious and my boyfriend clearly loved the seafood scampi he got it both nights. For dessert we got the skillet cookie and it was absolutely delicious. If you are ever in town, eat at this place! It is the best.
