The 43-acre campus is 4 miles west of downtown Summerville and 45 minutes from Charleston.

Pinewood is continually building upon the values and principles established in 1952 by founder Henrietta Muckenfuss Allan.
We are always looking to make our program stronger and more applicable to the challenges of the 21st century. The core of our school is a faculty unlike no other. 23 Pinewood teachers have earned Master Teacher honors, the most of any independent school in the state. Two thirds of our faculty have advanced degrees. Beyond the credentials and accomplishments, you will find caring and committed adults in every class or grade level.
