The Pioneer Community Food Bank is open every third Thursday of the month in the Pioneer Middle School cafeteria.
Our mission is to provide healthful, “whole” foods to residents in the Pioneer School District in need of food. Given the strong correlation between poverty and overweight/obesity, providing nutritious and unrefined foods to clients is an important step to improve health in our community. We can do better than ramen!
Also, we are excited to implement the "Commodities into Meals" program this year, which will teach clients of the Pioneer Food Bank to prepare meals based on bulk foods and government commodities utilizing slow-cookers. We will feature new recipes each month and the Food $ense nutrition educators will be on hand to give out samples of the recipes. Please let us know if you have a Crock-Pot or slow cooker to donate to the new program.
Thank you to Mason Matters, the Bridge Community Church, the Mason County Democratic Party, Saints' Pantry Food Bank, and all of our wonderful volunteers for making the the PCFB possible!
