Pirates Cove Self Storage I and II provide a safe, secure, affordable facility for storing private property, whether it is for a home or business. Originally, the company began back in 1988 at the Pinckney location and has grown from offering just standard storage in one location to offering several kinds of storage options at two different facilities in Pinckney and Ann Arbor.

Our lot offers ground level, well-maintained, standard and climate controlled storage units, plus units with lights and electricity. We also offer indoor RV/Boat bays that are large enough to accommodate most standard consumer vehicles and recreational equipment, including campers and small to mid-size watercraft. The entire facility is fully fenced and well-lit.

We also offer locks and boxes for sale, along with moisture absorbers, mattress bags, packing tape, etc.

We have 24-hour video surveillance and a staff member who resides on the property for extra security.

Sandy is rude and unprofessional. Went to pay for a unit that was due and was charged for a 2nd unit I did not set up. Was told my husband set up another unit in my name, but he hadn't. Brother in law set up a unit for father in law and they tacked it on to mine. When they took my payment they prepaid another month in advance on the 2nd unit that was not mine that was already paid up and not owing anything. When asked for a refund was told I would get it when the unit was vacated? She then proceeded to call my husband asking for an apology and accused him of setting up the 2nd unit, which he did not and I had already told her he hadn't. They made a mistake, a simple apology and correction and refund would have gone a long way! I now have my money back, but only because my father in law vacated his unit.
An excellent self-storage facility. They have a wide variety of storage units plus some with environmental control. Access is controlled and security seems to be excellent. The units are relatively new and very clean. One of the employee's lives on site and responds by phone and in person to special situations. The office staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are excellent and they offer a variety of payment arrangements.
If you are looking for a well-maintained storage facility, this is the place! From the moment that I drove onto the premises, I knew that I had chosen the right place to store my RV for the winter. After working with Sandy and Joe and the two of them addressing my concerns that I had with the original unit that I had reserved, I walked away a satisfied customer. Even though I am paying more than I anticipated, I know that my RV will be stored in a very nice PRIVATE bay, and I will not have to worry about any other customer having access to its location. Piece of mind is sometimes worth the extra cost. Thank you both, Sandy and Joe. Your place looks great! Keep up the good work; your excellent curb appeal shows that you both truly care about your storage facility!
Storage auction buyer beware! Recently purchased a storage unit from a website. The locker is supposed to be tagged after video is made. This was not. I paid the strike amount plus a 100 deposit. Ask for a receipt I'll give you one when you come back after cleaning it...!? I give you cash you give me receipt, 1st strike. Opened unit while I'm paying, 2nd strike. No gate code access, 3rd strike. Unit had no tag they could show me, 4th strike. Unit was obviously gone through, from the video and photos provided, 5th strike. If I could give zero I would. Since I already gave them the cash money without a receipt, I'm forced to take the stuff so I could get my deposit. I will be reporting them to the auction website they use. Horrible shady experience. Treat your buyers like actually customers.
I was moving back to Michigan to help my family. The staff was very helpful and courteous with getting a storage unit. They made the process go very smooth. The facility has good security and the grounds are well maintained. I woould recommend them to anyone.
I just moved to Michigan a little over a month ago, with a LOT of stuff! I googled every storage facility within 25 miles of Pinckney, and finally landed on Pirate's Cove Self Storage. They had the absolute BEST PRICES that I had come across.The woman there was extremely helpful about assisting me, since I was calling out-of-state. She informed me that they would hold the building I needed, all based on my word. No deposit, no hassel, just a down home person trusting another individual. When we arrived, all we had to do was sign the papers and we were done! We were unable to find a lock, and they provided us with one, I think it was $10 dollars. Also, we signed our papers on the 7th..so they took off a weeks worth of rent for us, which was fantastic as we were on a tight budget. We are moving in 2 weeks, and even though we are moving on the 2nd or 3rd..they are not charging us any rent for the month of Nov. I simply called and explained to them what the situation was...and it was no problem. I would def recommend Pirate's Cove to anyone looking for storage! Great people, great prices, and all around great service!
Been with these folks for a few years now, they all are super. Work with you if you have any problem. Joe is always there to help. I love Pirates Cove Self Storage, in Pinckney.
This company needs a major lesson in customer service. They recently changed their gate policy and rendered all old entry codes useless. Today, we were unable to our unit, informed by an asphalt company rep that they were emrepaving and closed for 2 days. WE RECEIVED NO NOTICE OF EITHER EVENT. HOW RUDE!! They might be the only game in town, and act like it.
Great staff. Our unit has always been safe. If you are going to be late on a payment, be sure to stay in contact with management. They will work with you.
Seriously you don't prorate the last month of service?!? I called today to be curteous and let them know that we'd be out the 10th of next month and they seriously were bating me... "Just so you know you have to pay the full month..." Why?!? I wouldn't care so much except we've been loyal paying on time renters for 9 months and this is going to cost us an extra $200. Bunch of bologna...
