Pittsburg State University, also called Pitt State or PSU, is a public university with more than 7,400 students located in Pittsburg, Kansas, United States. A large percentage of the student population consists of residents within the Pittsburg region; the gender proportion is relatively equal. While most of the students are Americans, international students enroll from about 40 countries throughout the world. Pitt State has an 18:1 student-to-faculty ratio and is located on approximately 600 manicured acres. It is a member of the Kansas Board of Regents (the same governing board that oversees the University of Kansas, Kansas State, Emporia State and Wichita State).
