Pittsburgh Commissary & Bx

An amazing benefit for military and veterans in Pittsburgh. Employees at the store are so helpful and nice! The produce is always attended to and fresh. For a smaller size commissary there is a lot of selection..

Everytime I go shopping at the Commissary in Pittsburgh We have a Wonderful time the Gentleman who checks are I'd I believe his name is Jerry is very Courteous to us my wife Ramona Is Handicapped and on Oxygen he goes out of his way to help us ! As a Disabled U.S Army Veteran I appreciate the service that the Commissary provides for us all!

The prices are always right. The staff is always friendly. It is great to be a part of the military and veteran family here.

They are very helpful at the checkout area. You can also apparently call them and put in orders for pickup. They are open President's Day, but only until around 4 or 4:30 PM. I can't recall which time. It is best to call prior to going if you're not sure of their hours, especially if you are driving long distance. Today the commisary was open, but not the px. I did call prior to leaving since it is close to 50 miles one way for me. I like to make it worth my trip so I try to go once every few months and get the things I will use over a few months of time. This way if for some reason I can't make it to the store I will be okay for a little while. They are so much less than the local grocery store.

Awesome PX and Commissary. PX is a little on the small size, but has a good array of items. Commissary is super clean, great produce, and deli items.

Im so surprised by the amount of selection here! Certainly not a "rations" or MRE experience. All the great parts inclydubg a bakery, produce, meat, etc. I plan to shop here more often! Wow! Tell me about the bakery? I see a deca label on the half chocolate cake I just bought... can I order a special cake, or do I just have to be quick when a new batch arrives? Good stuff!!

Fantastic place to shop if you're military or military retired. Great prices, well stocked, always very clean!

First class operation. Neat and clean with a nice selection and competitive prices. The meat selection was very nice. There were long lines at checkout, with only 2 cashiers there. UPDATE MAY 2023. Still a very nice small operation. Large meat selection for its size. Always find value.

Found the store right inside the gate, so very easy to find. No parking close to the store - there was a big area in the front with chairs and tables... The store was set up well and nice and clean, and wasn't busy at all . Was hoping to find prices like I remembered from when I was on active duty .. significantly less than the surrounding area. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Turkey was the same per pound as what I'd purchased from another store a couple of days prior. Some items were close in price to stores in the area, saving a few cents here and there. Some prices were actually higher than what I've paid elsewhere. Then at checkout I discovered I had to pay a fee to use my credit card, and the baggers had a tip jar. I feel like I'd have done better to go to Sam's club, which I'll do next time. Nice people working there, but I don't feel like the prices were good enough to make it a regular stop on my shopping trips.

Extremely friendly staff! I was in there with my 6mo and they were loving on him and extremely helpful with finding me formula! They touched my heart and made me cry when I got into my car! Good people still exist! Thank you for showing my son and I kindness you make the world a sweeter place
