I got my parking ticket on August 17 and I sent a check to the Court on August 19. 19 days have passed. But my check still hasn’t cashed. I tried to call the court multiple times, but the phone number cannot call through. I leave this message to show I have paid the check on time and I have tried multiple times to contact the court.
It takes 4-6 weeks for speeding tickets to be entered into the system, preumambly because police officers are too lazy to enter it in a timely manner. What is the point of giving out tickets if it takes over a freaking month to be posted online so i can even pay them, what happens if someone forgets in that time? The women i spoke with was kind and as helpful as she could be, but when the ticket says "pay within 10 days or fine increases" and the violation takes up to 42 days to go online, its like they want your fine to go up.
Posting this as documentation. Tried to pay online multiple times over the month and was told that it sometimes takes time to process the citations. It says if I don’t pay within 10 days of the issuance of the citation I will get in trouble. It’s been almost 30 days now and I am still unable to pay online. My citation has nothing but a total due marked on it, no signature or license plate number. I’m not even sure it’s my ticket at this point since it doesn’t have my license plate number on it, Will continue to try to pay the ticket, but at this moment I’m not sure what to do.
I am writing this to leave record that I have tried to contact this court multiple times over a parking ticket I received Nov 7 2021. It is now January and the check I mailed out on Nov 8 2021 to pay still has not been cashed. I have called multiple times and you literally cannot get a person and the automated responses give numbers that are out of service. There is no email to contact. My car had gotten towed because of a Kennywood marathon on the street I was parked signs to not park did not go up until night before race and race was on a Sunday, a free parking day. I was already parked BEFORE the signs went up AND I had had surgery Nov. 7 so I was not checking that night I have tried multiple times to call and get this sorted out but you cannot contact. Terrible system.
I have been unable to contact anyone regarding making payment on my parking ticket. They won't let me pay online, it says I need to call the court, but they don't have anyone who answers phones, so there's no hope in reaching anyone. This is what they do so they can add on more fees while you're trying to pay it but are unable to.
It’s infuriating and absolutely unacceptable to not even have ONE person be able to answer the phone for your ENTIRE courthouse. I’ve called more times than I can count to speak to someone about a traffic citation, but every single route the directory takes me is just some generic automated response with basic information that I already know and reminding you that you have to wear a mask in the building every couple of minutes. There’s literally no way to talk to anyone that works here unless you go down in person but it’s almost an hour away from me so it’s pretty inconvenient for me to have to do that, especially with parking and the rude attendants they have working in their garage. Really restores your faith in the justice system, doesn’t it?
Arrived at 14:25 to security to get into the building. I was turned away immediately because everyone had left for the day. I looked at the hours online, and they are totally different. I can’t even get ahold of the court because the line is always too busy. You would think that they’d understand and fund the place a little more. I only have 1 hour per week that they are open and it is from 2-3pm. I pay for parking and can’t even ever get in. We aren’t all rich, here. This is a violation of our rights!!
Paying them silly fines instead of paying for healthcare! Thanks for killing and robbing anyone who doesn’t look like an Irish
Police-issued parking citation. Pay double for the privilege of getting rung up by a trained PO aka glorified meter maid. Confusing signage, illegible parking ticket on a carbon form straight out of the 1950's with no website to pay. Google search reveals a confusing web of scammers ready to take your money with jacked-up fees. Pittsburgh Police...serve and protect? More like line their pockets. A joke. First-and last-time visitor to this hick $hithole.
whether practicing law in multiple states or acting as an advocated in others, Pittsburgh is one of the worst systems to try to maneuver in. I suggest groups of people address county council and state reps, file right to know requests to find out who manages the departments, heads of security, heads guards, warden, council and write letters along with picketing outside their homes. That will get some attention and change.
