What is placenta encapsulation?
Placenta Encapsulation is a process in which a woman's placenta is dried, ground, and put into capsules so that she may ingest her placenta postpartum.
What is the placenta encapsulation process?
The process I use follows a Traditional Chinese Medicine formula. Within the first 48 hours of the birth the placenta is rinsed, the outer membranes are removed, and the cord is removed. The placenta is then cut into small pieces or strips and placed into a dehydrator. It takes up to 24 hours for the placenta to dry completely. Once dried it is then ground into a fine powder and placed into capsules to make oral consumption easier.
Why would a woman want to ingest her placenta?
Taking placenta capsules postpartum has been reported to reduce the incidence of postpartum mood disorders (such as "baby blues", anxiety, or depression), it can increase energy and vitality in he recovery period, and increase milk production.
How much does it cost to encapsulate my placenta?
The base price is $200 which includes the processing of the placenta, a placenta print, and a cord keepsake. The placenta pills are returned to you in a personalized labeled jar and included an instruction sheet on how to take your pills.
