Often not overcrowded in the morning about 8 when I like to go. Staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone respectfully seems to clean equipment after each use with additional cleaning from staff. Tanning beds aren't the best when it comes to availability as this local one only has one stand up and one lay down functioning for quite some time. Good atmosphere never been judged or bullied either!
This place has completely gone downhill. I have been a member for quite a few years. Most of the staff are very pleasant however the cleanliness of this facility is not up to par. The women's bathrooms are very gross. I went there today, and the same stall had the same feces mark on the toilet from when I was there 3 days prior. The garbage's in the women's locker room are always overflowing, soap dispensers are usually empty. I get it that all places are understaffed but there is absolutely no excuse for not cleaning. This is very sad because this facility used to always be clean. I would always see staff out on the floors cleaning machines or in the locker room's cleaning. I don't see that anymore.
Great place to workout for the right price. It has all I need. My one grip is opening the gym up for free during the summer to 14-19 year old kids. These kids come in groups, take up all the machines and barely do any working out. It just becomes a hangout spot for them to take pictures and goof off. I've seen several teens jumping off and climbing on equipment this summer. I've also seen a consistent group of kids, anywhere from 4-7 of them, who regularly show up sit on a machine for hours just to chit chat and not work out. This takes up space and equipment from the rest of the paying customers. It's bad enough when the college kids are in town, now we have to put up with young teenagers too. Don't run this promo again. Make them pay like the rest of us and have a minimum age like 17 to enter. If you don't at least have the staff enforce the kids to workout, give up the machines after a certain amount of time or kick them out
Plattsburgh's Planet Fitness is a little bit smaller than The one on Hammer Lane in Stockton California, but just as clean and staff was very helpful and polite.
Very nice place to workout. Great customer service and reasonable prices.
I would like to see a second person on as backup on the weekend so when an employee decides not to show up the members are not standing in the parking lot for an hour.
There’s a handful of people that sit on the express workout machines upstairs and don’t even use them, but play on their phone, 10+ minutes. Every morning there’s AT LEAST 1-2 weight machines I don’t get to use up there because someone is playing on their phone and will not leave. Someone went in to my locker and stole my knee braces and back brace at planet fitness. I asked the workers at the desk if they had any braces in the lost in found, they said No. The funny thing was, an employee said that they would call me right away if they found braces, but never asked for my name/ number. The atmosphere was meh…alright. Also, the "no pressure contract $10/month" costs $60 to cancel.
Way too small. Good luck finding a specific machine during anything but super off hours.
The Price is Right. They could do a better job on being mask police during mask mandates. They could do a better job on making sure that people sanitize equipment when they are done. Most of the equipment is maintained well but there is one piece of equipment I've been waiting to see fixed for two weeks and it hasn't been yet. Other than that I like working out at Planet Fitness.
Compared to other PF places, this one is my least favorite. The staff, however, is nice and means well. Unfortunately, the men's bathroom always smells like nasty feet. Shoes and boots everywhere on the floor. The water dispenser needs to be updated for bottle refilling rather tilting bottle in spit drain to fill. CNN seems to be owners favorite cause it runs on a few different tvs verses FOX news which at one point was completely off until I think people started complaining. College town and lots of college kids, so you have to scope out a good time to beat the over crowed times, which is great for business but bad for most members. I've noticed some longtime members have switched gyms, maybe a few bucks extra is worth a better gym experience. There is a difference in PF from area to area. We've used them all over in FL and VT and again, Plattsburgh location is my least favorite but it's in our hometown so dealing with it for now.
