Had a rude interaction with front desk and will be taking business elsewhere. Sad to leave as I have been taking my kids for 5+ years but after this interaction it was time to leave this practice. Dr McDougal is nice enough, but interactions with her are short and most of the time is spent with staff. Having quality staff that treats their patients well is of upmost importance.
My 3 kids have been coming here since they were 6 months old. They love it & like watching a movie while getting their teeth cleaned. McDougal is amazing & sweet always!
Visited yesterday for my daughter’s first dentist appointment and I was very pleased with our experience. The reception staff was helpful and friendly. Marcy, the dental hygienist, and Dr. McDougal were patient and great at interacting with my daughter. They made sure she was comfortable and took time to answer all of my questions. Also, the office was clean and perfect for kids of all ages a variety of toys and a cute little movie room with bean bag chairs. I highly recommend this dentist! If you’re nervous about your little one’s first dentist visit, they will make if fun and hassle free.
Over the past 8.5 years, Dr. Sandy McDougal has provided excellent care for my two children. She is very patient and caring with children, and can put any child at ease with her sweet and compassionate nature. The entire staff is wonderful, and very personable. Our dental visits from beginning to end are enjoyable, and my kids look forward to seeing Dr. Sandy! We love Plano Pediatric Dentistry!!!
We have been going to Doctor McDougal for six years now and we could not be happier or more satisfied.She is honest, knowledgeable, kind and very caring.Under her expertise I am sure that my kids are safe, and so is my pocket! She doesn’t even schedule an unwanted visit let alone charge you for any unwanted treatment and gives you any and every assistance she can over the phone.
Dr. Sandi and staff are wonderful! They are all very friendly and helpful! I trust Dr. Sandi’s recommendations and feel like their suggested dental work is appropriate. They have a very nice office and toys & televisions to keep kids occupied. They take our dental insurance and always communicate exactly what costs will be. My kids always look forward to going to the dentist which is a bonus for me!
I wish I could give no stars. Dr. McDougal is blessed with a wonderful staff but she is rude as can be and impatient. If your job is to work with kids, patience better be your BEST attribute. She did not want to work on our son unless he was sedated. Our son simply wouldn’t open his mouth ONE TIME. She gave up and after that would only work on him under sedation, which we refused. We waited a year and he was ready to open for his cleaning. She could’ve easily won him over but chose not to. Luckily we moved to another pediatric dentist and our son has done wonderful with him WITHOUT BEING SEDATED! She seems a little burned out and maybe it is time to retire. Sad because our first couple visits were awesome.
Dr McDougall and staff are all wonderful! My son never let anyone in his mouth for dental at all due to having prior medical surgeries. She was recommended to us! He is so relaxed in her office and let's her do whatever she needs to do. I highly recommend Dr McDougall she is so kind, patient and sweet!
I am genuinely hurt by the interaction I had with a staff member. Our entire conversation I was looked down upon and seen a less then. It blows my mind that offices treat their patients like nothing more than a replaceable commodity. After 4 years of medical school I would like to believe that staff enjoyed helping others, I guess I was mistaken.I will be taking my family to a different practice.
I am disappointed with how my appointment for my 3 year old daughter went yesterday. The office staff were very nice and friendly. My daughter and I got there a little early, so they were able to see us earlier. I went for a second opinion on dental work that needs to be done for my daughter because of insurance reasons. I chose this place because they are in network with my insurance and all the good reviews made me make the drive out to Plano Pediatric Dentist. The first thing Dr. McDougal asked was if the other pediatric dentist mentioned sedation for her treatment. I told her they mentioned "laughing gas". Dr. McDougal said she would have to do IV sedation to do treatment. If I didn't like that I could go back to the other dentist. I was just shocked that she would make a comment like that. Then she said she would need to put crowns on all 4 of my daughters molars since she is prone to cavities. I explained to her that the other dentist mentioned 1 for sure and rest would be fillings. Dr. McDougal said nope, she would need all 4 all at once under IV sedation. I told her that this was my first child and the thought of sedation scares me and asked her to give me more explanation. She said if I want insurance to cover it to look for another dentist that will go to the hospital to do the treatment there under IV sedation and it would be covered under medical insurance. She told me they will send me information regarding IV sedation and how much I would need to pay out of pocket since this is not covered under insurance. They sent me a email and just for the IV sedation without any other estimate for treatments that need to be done was $1,200. Um... let me remind you, I went here to save money, not to spend more money. Regardless, Dr. McDougal saw my daughter less than 3 mins. max and left a huge horrible impression on both of us. I would not recommend this office to any of my friends with kids.
