My granddaughter attended this school. after half of a semester we had to pull her out of school and do the Florida Virtual online school for the rest of the year. she is now in private school and everything is great. At Plant city high school she was confronted with bullies, tension, a lot of kids fighting at lunchtime and break time daily. It was not an environment conducive to learning. If your child is easily distracted, he/she will not be able to concentrate in this school. My eldest grandchild graduated from here a couple of years ago, at that time it WAS a good school. Also, I have to agree with one of the other reviewers, friendliness is not something they practice on all levels here. if you can apply for scholarships/grants and send your child to private school believe me they will get a better education in an environment that is healthy for the mind, soul and spirit.
Don't listen to the bad, the school is a top graded school and has been for a while! As a student I was a trouble maker but they set me straight, a learned quite a bit while I was there as well. I am now older and starting to get more involved in the community and some of that comes from the efforts of all the great staff and volunteers that help out here. At the school I am helping coach different sports teams and I love it, truly wonderful students attend here!
The teachers you get can become a luck of the draw. From what is described to me, there is no quality control for the teachers, meaning that as long as a teacher can follow the curriculum they can work there. This is a very bad thing since they don't have to engage your students, but instead sit them in front of a book and tell them to take notes while they "sit on their phone giggling at things." I recommend FLVS, because the past month my child has done nothing but adore it. The lessons are lightweight on the brain but effectively teach the child how to complete everything needed. The teachers are phenomenal, nice, friendly, and focus on the individual. Plant City High School is not a place I would want my child to learn at.
Teachers are great, kids can be mean, the school is clean. No problems here.
I've heard a lot of good things about this school and I want to go here aftern8th grade
Because it is true what people say when they say it's the best school they are right
