Plato's Closet® is all about being fashion savvy and shopping smart. We specialize in gently used clothes and accessories for teen and twenty something girls and guys. All stores are independently owned franchises.

At Plato's Closet® you'll find a huge selection of trendy, designer styles as well as those every day basics you can't live without - all at up to 70% off mall retail prices!

Our stores buy and sell girls sizes 0/1 to 15/16 and guys size 28 to 38 waist. The gently used clothing and accessories that we buy are: top-name brands, cool, hip, trendy, and clean. Typically we buy items that have been in the retail stores within the past 12 to 18 months.

Our process is quick and easy:

1. Go through your overflowing closet
2. Bring in your cool stuff
3. Walk out with new cool stuff or $$$ in your pocket!

I would not go there if I had to the last time I went there I brought in brand new Nikes, Ralph Lauren, BB, and other brand name they were trying to tell me that they are not in perfect condition like off the rack so they wouldn't take them. What do they expect people to do not wear their clothing and just bring it there because they're in desperate need of money? They didn't even go through the clothing that I had there except for 48 items which they even put it on a sticker that they only went to 48 items. I walked out with three Hefty bags of clothing that they didn't even go through and I know they didn't go through them because they were up-to-date clothing that still had the tags on them Plato's get yourself together
This store is honestly my go to for any kind of clothes I'm looking for. I don't think I've ever not found something I want and I LOVE how they give you cash for your clothes, it's a great way to not waste material. They don't always buy, but have more than not, given me cash for the clothes I brought in. Even my boyfriend who never buys things found a shirt here he really likes. Ive been shopping at this store for years and love it!
Love this store. My daughter's like to stop in frequently to see what is new. Customer service is always great!
This was a waste of my day. First off they told me that they would call me back in 2 hours and I never got a call back so ended up having to call them to find out if they have looked at my dresses. Then when I got there they tell me that they can't take any of my dresses because they are "gently used." Last I knew you were a 2nd hand store and also yes a prom or maid of honor dress was worn once so it's not going to be brand new. Asked them when they called to see why I didn't get a call from them to tell me I declined their call which I never did and I told them that to get a response of " you have to go into your settings to accept our calls." So why didn't anyone tell me that before I left the store. All in all I will not be coming back here and will be letting everyone I know to not go there too. I would recommend that if you are reading this that you don't waste your time with them.
They wouldn’t return an item that I just bought yesterday because I removed the tag. I paid $20 for an item I’ll never wear. They lost a customer. They said the reason they couldn’t take it back is because they didn’t know if it was the original item even though I had a picture of myself in their dressing room with that item.

Love Plato’s Closet! From selling my clothes to buying new ones, they do it all. Favorite place for resale shopping.
While it says on their website "We buy all day, every day, no appointment necessary" this is not true. You won't know if they are accepting any more clothing for buys until you arrive that day, potentially wasting your time and gas money if they are not accepting at that time. They should keep their website updated with this information.
The sign in the window says that they are always buying clothes, then they have a floor sign saying they need coats, athletic gear, along with other stuff and after cleaning out my closet I took a lot of the items that they said they were looking for, before I can get all the way in the door I see 4 girls standing there talking when one turns around and sees me bringing in clothing and say to the other girls “ not more clothes I’m tired “ I should have turned around and walked away but I brought my clothes in and all of the clothes are name brand and in excellent shape, after waiting for an hour for someone to look at my clothes I get the text telling me that they are done, I go back in and out of 2 large bags of clothes they tell me that my clothes were too worn and out of style and they were not interested in anything that I had, took the same stuff to the Kalamazoo store the next morning and they absolutely bought everything I had and told me that they were giving me top dollar for my clothes because they were all in such good condition, mind you these were the same clothes that the girls in Battle Creek said were too worn to buy the night before, and honestly I felt it was because I interrupted the girls talk session they were having, I love to buy thrift clothing but no wonder the Battle Creek store never has anything that interest me, I am done even going into the Battle Creek store, I don’t want to deal with a bunch of rude snobby girls that are truly there just to hang out with each other, do yourself a favor and go to the Kalamazoo store, way more clothing with a polite staff, no wonder I can’t ever find anything in the Battle Creek store, on top of that the Kalamazoo store has way better prices as well!
I find this location disturbing on several occasions as a woman of color I am not greeting when I enter,but immediately notice a warm welcome for white patrons that come in after me.this comes off racist I will not be returning.I last visited the store Wednesday may 24,2023 at 1:30 pm.there were 5 girls working behind the counter and we were greeted by no one ..very disappointed again.
