I really like this location. Probably the best out of all of the Plato's Closets around the St. Louis Metro Area. I will say though that they probably pay the least out of the other locations I have visited. I think they bought like 20 of my items the other day and only gave me around $15. I wouldn't recommend taking anything super valuable or high end here. I usually just take items that I have had for 6+ months online and haven't sold. Then I'm just happy to get whatever they give me for it before I donate to Goodwill around the corner. The staff is the nicest at this location. Someone is always at the counter to check me in and they actually respond when I am talking to them. I'll continue to use this location as a destination to get a few bucks back before I donate my items.
Great selection of clothes and immaculate customer service! My only suggestion is if this location added men's apparel like some of their other locations have, I think it would benefit their business tremendously. Also, adding online pre-sale would make game Changing profit margin increases. That pared with the store set up and employee customer service that's already .
It seems I'm not the only person that had a bad experience here. The people at the counter were nice, but they definitely didn't look through my clothes at all. I brought in three SMALL bags of clothing next to someone that had two 13 gallon trash bags, and was told that I was not allowed to give them more than two bags at a time, despite the fact that they took much more from the person next to me. After leaving my two best bags of clothes and waiting all of five minutes, they told me they would offer me 6 dollars for the three-four items they picked from the top, the second bag completely untouched, not even opened- which is a shame because i had several similar items of the same brand/type/condition in that bag as well. If you aren't going to look through my stuff, don't waste my time. I looked around, didn't find anything I liked, and as I left I noticed it had become very busy and there were no adults working, just 3 high schoolers. Probably an ownership/mgmt problem, but someone who knows how to run a store needs to show up and make things happen. Don't waste your effort in the meantime!
i wanna give no stars because they play people like they stupid i took a pair of 60 heels they gave me two dollars… i know i didn’t have to take it but i did because i couldn’t fit the shoes!! but be for real!! brand new shoes nice never saw these in they life .. THEY ALWAYS DO THAT I TOOK GOOD CLOTHES TO THEM before THEY SAY THEY OUT DATED I JUST DONT LIKE THAT PLACE I SHOPED THERE BEFORE BUT I WONT BE GOING BACK EVER
Very busy, it was during the 2.00 dress sale, so I was expecting a level of chaos. The store itself was a mess, but because of the sale, I can't take that away from them. It was too much to keep up with. I wish they had a better way to display shoes; they were all thrown on top of each other and truly not sorted by size. I gave up looking and just grabbed about 6 dresses. I didn't try them on because of the chaos, and after I got home only 2 actually fit and were keepers. Still, all said and done, 12.00 for 2 dresses was still one heck of a deal!
I had some brand new clothes, shoes and purses that I took up here never worn with tags and they tried giving me $1 per item of clothing, $2 for a brand new pair of vans, and $5 for a brand new $200+ Dooney and Burke purse!!! Yet they overprice everything in their store. The girl behind the counter was SO RUDE AND PUSHY!!! they also wouldn’t let me look in the bins to see what they had wanted of mine because $40 for 100+ items was absolutely insane to me and I wanted to take back some of my hood stuff. I asked to take my clothes back because I could sell them somewhere else for a good price, but they wouldn’t let me!!! I’m so angry!!! I lost a lot of brand new j-crew, hollister, lululemon and other items because they didn’t let me take my stuff back! I’m beyond angry and will never come back here.
I think they had really good prices and really good selection and really cute items that were that were very well priced with the sale they had going on for the Labor Day weekend that day I got $30 worth of clothes that I was paid almost a $1000 for no kidding at the mall Brand new so I can't complain
I'm starting to love this place more and more each time I go. Lower prices and better quality clothing than Goodwill.
Idk what happened to this place but it's an absolute dumpster fire now. I've been selling clothes at this store since they were still located in Kirkwood years ago. There used to be such sweet employees who would thank me for bringing in my clothing to buy and tell me how great my items were, and even tell me how many items they set aside to buy for themselves! Within the last year, idk if they changed management or updated their standard policies or what, but it's become a total nightmare. The woman who I assume is the manager she is always standing behind the check in touch screen has an incredibly horrible attitude and is clearly miserable. She won't make eye contact with any customers, much less look up from her stuff to say hello. Shes been so rude to everyone who approaches her the last 4 times I've been in the store. I used to bring in 2 bins of clothing and they would take almost every item and I'd get around 70-100 dollars. The last two times I've gone, I brought brand new with tags items, all bought in the last year from their target brands, and they take about 40 items and give me ~35 dollars. Yesterday, they took two winter coats, shoes, dresses, sunglasses, etc 40+ items, almost all new and unworn and only gave me 40 bucks. I couldn't believe it. Just one of the coats cost more than that. Then, if you go shop around the store you'll find old, dirty clothing with holes stains and tears, and you wonder how these items were bought?? I'm so bummed to say it but I think I'm officially done with platos. Going to go somewhere else to find friendly employees and fair buying prices.
Great place for good condition second hand clothing. Their shoe and boot selection is insane! Become a member and get coupons also!!!
